Question:
A few years back I purchased a receiver hitch and wiring kit to fit my 2001 Toyota Highlander. All worked great, thanks. I sold my boat and bought a used boat and trailer. The trailer has a flat 5-pin plug. My Toyota has only 4 pins. All of the lights work except the backup lights when I plug it in. My problemThere is some kind of switch on the trailer that prevents you from backing up if the backup lights dont work. I looked for a flat 5-pin with a converter on your site but I cant seem to find one. Thanks for any help.

There isn't a plug-and-play option available, but we do offer some options that will get your Highlander set up so you can tow your surge coupler-equipped boat trailer. As you mentioned, you need input from the reverse lamp circuit on the vehicle to release the reverse lock-out on your surge coupler. The simplest (but unfortunately the least reliable) way to handle this would be to use an adapter like part # C57187. The extra blue wire on the vehicle side would tap into the reverse lamp circuit.
The more reliable and permanent install would use a circuit protected powered converter with 5-pole connector like # 119177KIT which would involve tapping into your existing taillight circuits. If you wish, and the T-connections from your existing # 118413 connector are still intact, you could reuse the T-connector portion and splice them onto the # 119177KIT I recommended.
