Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter
A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

The harness went in exactly as expected and works perfectly. The wire lengths were good and the instruction were clear. Some disassembly of the vehicle was necessary, but no permanent modifications were needed.
Should have watched the video before trying to do this by the written directions. I tried with the written directions and figured it out but went back to the video and acutally did it right. Make sure to watch the video.

I found this through YouTube, excellent! From now on, I don't go to the store, I go to etrailer.com. The item came in three days, perfect for my weekend project.
Kit is exactly like the picture and vids, easy as pie to install. Like everyone has stated, the wire to fish through is too short, needs to be longer but I guess they need to save costs lol. If you expand and flatten the wire completely straight, its just long to reach through.
The video made it easy. Popped a few of the wheel well "buttons" out and fed the wiring through the taillight assemblies. You can tuck the wiring up in the fascia or tie to the hitch frame, either way you really won't see it. We just hooked up the ground to the the quarter panel retaining bolt since it was right there anyway. No need to drill a hole in your vehicle. Tested the lights once it was all set up, no problems on either the Vue or the trailer.
I recently purchased the 118418 T-connector for my Saturn Vue to haul a Scout Trailer. Watched the video once and had this installed in 15 minutes. Super simple to install and use. Since I have a Reese tubular hitch, I had to buy an adapter to mount the plug in an odd place, but the connector itself works and that is all I need it to do.
E-trailer made it extremely simple to install a trailer light hook-up, in fact, I will be ordering another one soon for another vehicle and will have my 13 year old son install it.

I've had a trailer hitch for about 3 yrs now but nobody had a quick connect wiring harness till I found this one. I didn't follow the directions to an exact "T" because I wanted my 4-flat plug to stay inside the car unless I'm hauling somthing. But I had the whole thing installed in about 20 mins. Best investment I've made. I'm trailering my new motorcycle next week. At least now I won't have to borrow trucks and such. I can go buy my own trailer. Worth the extra $ for quick connect.
