Perfect fit - need this size for a 3/4 ton truck running a weight distribution/anti sway hitch.

by:

Very well made, fast shipping and reasonable price.

by:

Shank fit right with all my older E2 parts and was the right size. Kudos to Etrailer for prompt shipping and follow up.

by:

Perfect! Original shank from a Fastway E2 kit. Recently upgraded tow vehicle to a ford f150 4x4.

The problem with the original shank: at its lowest setting, the ball height marked at 21", which was an inch higher than needed for level.

The new shank allows the top of the ball to sit at 20", which is the level mark for the top of my campers hitch coupler.

by:

Good service- fast delivery. Seems like a good product

by:

I bought a new vehicle that sits higher. So my original Fastway E2 shank was too short. This new one works great and the shipping was super fast!

by:

Needed this shank for my Nissan Titan that has a suspension lift. Now my travel trailer is level. Can't thank etrailer enough for the fast delivery!

by:

I recently put a 5” lift and 35s on my 2012 Dodge Ram 3500. I needed a drop shank for the camper. This was the perfect drop for my setup. Put everything together and pulled my camper from NC to PA with no problems. Ordered on Saturday with 3 day shipping and received Wednesday. Very happy with my purchase.

by:

Hitch work great anything I need in the future you will be te first one I call. Thanks your company is great.

by:

Great customer services, there was some question involving my address as billing and delivery are different. A customer service agent called within the 24 hours of ordering and confirmed my address at the box and quickly had my order on the way. In fact it arrived a day earlier, 100% satisfied customer here.

by:

Product as described. Fast free delivery

by:

Order was delivered four days ahead of schedule and was just what they advertised. Sales person was knowledgable of thre weight distribution system and helped me order the correct down shank my truck and trailer required. As usual a good experience.

Very happy with this product. No problems whatsoever.

by:

Went from a 1500 to 2500 which was taller so needed a bigger drop to keep my trailer level. This worked perfectly with my E2 weight distribution system.

by:

This is a advertised. Biggest thing i didn't expect is that it is sold steel. My previous hitch which was shorter was actually hollow. This one is HEFTY.

Everything works as expected. The longer shank was needed for my short camper, but to reiterate other people, it is HEAVY. Solid steel construction gives the peace of mind knowing things arent going to break, but you feel that peace of mind every time you pick it up.

by:

Arrived on time and the item and package in perfect condition. Thanks for using UPS as they are the best.
The item is just as described and at a great price.
I would not hesitate to buy from you again.

by:

My truck is lifted 12" between the larger tires and lift kit. Needed this longer shank in order to get my weight distribution hitch to level the RV I pull. Extremely heavy duty and built to last your lifetime. It won't disappoint and will handle any trailer you put behind it.

by:

I have been using this for about a year now to pull my 32 ft RV. Works great on my truck 2015 ram with 6in lift and 35in tires. I even have 1 more drop adjustment left on the hitch if your truck is higher.

by:

I had originally ordered an Equalizer Hitch system for towing my R Pod with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It worked well enough, but I was always troubled by how much lower the back of the trailer sat. This shank gave me an additional two inches of drop, which leveled the trailer to where it needed to be. Hally at etrailer.com was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with selecting the proper shank. My order arrived within two days, and I was able to take advantage of free shipping, which helped given this item is solid steel and quite heavy. I highly recommend etrailer.com for all your towing needs!

by:

This is a quality part. We use it with our 3/4 ton Ram along with our 27' travel trailer and I was able to get the trailer perfectly level when connected. It has very little slack in the receiver on the truck also because of the non-tapered design. It is very heavy though, so make sure to brace your back when taking it on and off!

by:

Product shipped extremely fast. It works perfectly as an addition to my Fastway e2 weight distribution hitch. My trailer now sits perfectly level when attached to my new truck.

by:

Product works as advertised. The distribution shank that came with the "Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Round - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW" worked fine for towing with a Ford Expedition.

When I bought a 3500 HD, the original distribution shank wasn't long enough due to the difference in height of the vehicles.

Swapping out the distribution shank was relatively easy. Simply follow the directions for setting and leveling the hitch.

by:

Did the job. Easy to mount hitch on. A word of caution - don’t tighten the hitch mounting bolts till everything is completely adjusted. They are really hard to loosen and I had to get one of them off to adjust the spacing washers on the e2 weight distributing hitch.

by:

Ordered this product on Tuesday, it was picked the same day and shipped out. I had my trailer set up by Friday. Great price and great service! This shank was exactly what I needed to get down to the trailer's 18" ball height using the receiver which came with my 2016 F250 4x4. Quality is great just like that of the Fastway e2 weight distribution hitch I purchase earlier.

by:

Everything works well. Had to buy this when I changed tow vehicle (Toyota Highlander to Ram 1500). I don't recall seeing any mention on E-trailer web site that different vehicle needed different length shanks. Would be helpful if this would be mentioned in the product description.

by:

Almost perfect fit. The drawbar pin hole is slightly low for my factory receiver box (2007 GMC Yukon XL). No big deal as I just need to lift up on the drawbar and the pin goes in snugly. Other than that, the other holes line up perfectly and the paint finish seems like it will last.

As far as eTrailer goes, I called in for help finding the right shank for my existing trunion weight distributing hitch. Just a couple of minutes and they recommended this Fastway item. Very satisfied with the prompt and correct reccomendatio! Like I said above, adding the Reese component was a perfect fit. The one downside would be the packaging... I understand, given the weight, this can be challenging. It was shipped in a sturdy box with plenty of specialized paper fill. That being said, the shipping company still managed to chip the paint in a few places and succeeded in putting a small dent in the solid bar. Nothing a little touch up paint can't fix. No big deal.

One thing on the product description... for my square bar Reese trunion head I ended up with about a 4.75" drop. Not the 5.5" shown in the title, nor the 5" shown in the detail description. I know its close, but my application is right at that limit. I am going to try out the bar with a bigger drop and see which one sets up better.

Overall great experience... would reccomend.

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch for V-Nose Trailer
The adjustable height, sway control, and 2-5/16" ball are something you can get on most weight distribution hitches. The main issue for you is the V-nose trailer. This typically limits the installation of a WDH because of the amount of space on the frame. However, with 26" you could use the Fastway system you were looking at. The # FA94-00-1033 is for 600-1,000 lbs of tongue weight so it is a bit much for your setup, instead you will need the # FA94-00-0800. This hitch works for 400-800...

Eight inches from the ground to the bottom of your weight distribution shank would be fine for most situations but like you've experienced turning into inclined driveways can cause it to drag.
