Lowest Drop Spec for B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System

Updated 04/09/2025 | Published 03/30/2023

Question:

Is there a drop hitch or adjustable ball mount that would work with the BandW Continuum head unit so that I can achieve a greater drop thats required for my application?

The B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System # BW28FR currently just comes with the 1 shank and it offers a 3-1/2" drop according to my contact at B&W. Currently they don't offer a shank with a larger drop but it may be something they come out with in the future.

Normally we can just use a larger weight distribution shank for this type of scenario but the shank for the Continuum is different enough that the shank is unique and can't be interchanged with other standard options so the 3-1/2" drop is the most you'll be able to get at this time (April 2023).

If you let me know the loaded weight of your trailer and the amount of drop you're needing I can make an alternative recommendation for you if needed.

Is the drop measured from the top of the receiver on the truck? If my truck receiver is at 22.5" and top of trailer coupler at 19.5" would the Continuum work? Also, how far below the trailer coupler does the Continuum drop? Thanks

@Trish The B&W Continuum # BW28FR has a max drop of 3-1/2" which will work for your application. B&W measures the heights a little different than we do, but ultimately what they say matches what you measured so you're good to go!

@JonG I misremembered the receiver height on the truck. Just measured and inside top of receiver is 23.5

@Trish In that case, I recommend using the B&W Continuum # BW24BR which has a lower shank for more height adjustment.
