Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Plug Secure: Adds 21 Inches of Reach

When your trailer plug is just out of reach, the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension for 21" SuperTruss Hitch Extender - 7-Way RV gives you the extra length you need. It adds a solid 21 inches between the truck and trailer connection, keeping the plug from pulling loose during tight turns or when towing with extensions. The male 7-way on one end and RV-style female 7-way on the other make it simple to plug right in and go.

Connects Straight to Standard 7-Way Plugs: Simple Setup

There’s no splicing or wiring guesswork here. This extension plugs directly into your existing 7-way, instantly extending power for lights, brakes, and charge lines. It’s a clean, direct connection that works just like your factory wiring—only longer.

Built for Real-World Conditions: Durable Plug and Lead Construction

Road grime and rain can cause corrosion if wiring isn’t sealed up right. This harness uses a tough plug-and-lead design with solid terminals to maintain good contact even after years of use. Periodic cleaning keeps the pins clear of dirt or debris so the signals stay strong trip after trip.

Easy to Mount and Maintain: Serviceable Connector Design

The connector housing has accessible screws that let you open it up for inspection or bracket mounting when needed. You can loosen the rear screw to release the cable or remove the mounting plate to attach a bracket. Using dielectric grease helps protect the contacts from moisture and corrosion so everything stays working smoothly.

Video Transcript for In-Depth Review of the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension for 21" SuperTruss Hitch Extender

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Torque lift line of wiring harness extensions for use with the super truck hitch extenders. These are available in several different lengths. Just depending on how long that hitch extender that you're using is going to be. This is Torque's Lifts 36" extension that matches their 36" super stress. If you're going with the longer super truss, get the longer. If you're going with the shorter, get the shorter. Really a nice option to where you can plug it right into the back of your vehicle, bring your power down to where it's right here, readily available and accessible for you to get to. What we're going to do is take our, what looks like a trailer plug end, we're going to pass it through our bracket.

It's just flexible enough we can kind of bend that bracket so allow it to come through. Then here's what we want, that's our 7 pole connector. We're going to be bale to hook our trailer up right here. We've got the nice safety chain connections there an then also our wiring connection. Slide that in.

We're pass our screw through the face there and then just put our nuts on the back. Now, the hardware's not provided so you'll need some hardware to pass through there. You can see our bracket's kind of got the oblong holes to make it to where it'll fit a lot of different style harnesses. I'm going to put a flat washer on to give our nut a good surface to bite to when we tighten it down. Now we can go ahead and tighten those down as well. At that point, we're mounted on, got a nice secure connection point.

We can basically just plug this right into the back of our truck. You don't want this to be hanging down underneath our hitch where it might drag or something like that. That will complete today's look at the Torque Lift wiring harness extensions for the super truck hitch extender.

Excellent customer service and product

by:

Perfect fit with my 21” hitch extension. Easy to install and hook up to the trailer.

by:

I used this product as an extension to my existing harness because our new truck's plug in is located in a different place than the previous one and the chord would disconnect when turning. Not the intended purpose for this product but it works just fine.

by:

My wiring harness works great. Best of all Etrailer ad my sales person was wonderful and understood exactly what I needed. I spent 3 hours on the phone and internet trying to find what I needed and none of them had a clue. This company truly has the most knowledgeable staff by far. I will not use anyone else from this point forward.

by:

Towed the camped from NY to California and back and this worked perfectly with a hitch extension

by:

My travel trailer cord was not adequately reaching my Expedition plug. Had already been pulled out when making a left turn. This extension worked great! Nice and secure fitting. Wrapped the excess once around the tongue jack for a better fit.

Its been a year and the extension cord still works great! Stays secure and gives enough room for turning.

by:

Way over priced for a non-weather proof extension. This extension would be exposed to water intrusion when installed. The wires into receptacle/plug ends are open for water seepage. This product appears assembled from off-the-shelf items, not molded for weatherproof integrity. This inferior design is not evident in the site photos of the product. And the price - twice as much as alternatives I have discovered since purchase. See the attached photos for the missing detail. I would likely return if I could and just assemble my own at a lower price. This item is not what I expect from eTrailer.

  • Recommended 7-Way Connector Extension for an Extended Ball Mount
Hey Todd. The best way to extend your 7-way connector is to use the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension item # TLW6021. This is essentially an extension cord for your vehicle's 7-way connector. It measures 24" long. Or you can purchase the 6' Long 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector item # H20044 and the 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket item # TS34RR and make one however long you need to. What kind of trailer do you have?

  • Options For Replacing A Broken 7-Way Connector
Hello Evan. I do have a solution for you, but I am afraid we do not offer a product that will fit your exact description. We do offer a few 7-way extensions that could potentially be used. Something like the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension # TLW6021. This will plug into the old 7-way and give you a new 7-way plug. It is 21" long though, so you would have to come up with a way to hide all the extra cord. You can use that with a bracket # A10-9394VP for a clean installation. Keep in mind...

  • TorkLift Hitch, Extension, and Tie Downs for 1996 Ford F-350
Hey Josh! I can definitely help you get what you need. The hitch is the easy part, you'll need the TorkLift SuperHitch # TLF1000. This will fit your F-350 as long as you have the standard or step bumper. It is rated for 17,000 lbs so as long as your truck is able to tow it, the hitch can handle it. Then for the frame mounted tie-downs, if you have no running boards or cab length running boards you need the TorkLift Tie Downs # TL96DR. If you have wheel to wheel running boards use # TL37NR...

  • Extension for 2024 Ford F-450 With Truck Camper Towing Boat Trailer
Hey Shawn, I really like that boat! If you didn't already I recommend actually measuring to make sure a 36" extension is really what you need. At 36" the only thing that can handle that kind of tongue weight is the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1536 which will require the SuperHitch Magnum # TL27CR . The # TLE1636 is limited to 720 lbs with a WDH so unless you can get your tongue weight down I'm sorry to say it isn't happening. If you can get away with a shorter extension the...

I have another option for you, but the Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass - 7-Way RV to 7-Way RV - Vehicle End # 20142 has built in resistors for vehicles with a lamp-out error and and since the lights are working properly when plugged in to your 2018 Toyota 4Runner, you do not want the increased resistance in the wiring. • Extension for 2019 F-450 With TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum and Host Mammoth 11.6 Camper
Hi Steven, welcome back! The only way to know which extension you need is to measure. This will ensure you have enough clearance for whatever you're towing with that setup. If you have the camper mounted in the truck, measure from the face of the truck's rear bumper to the outside edge of the camper's bumper. If the camper is not mounted on the truck: 1. Measure from the inside of the front of your truck bed to the outside face of the truck's rear bumper. 2. Measure the camper's overall...

  • What Trailer Wiring Connectors are Often Found on Rental Trailers
A 7-way trailer wiring harness is a very commonly used trailer connector that most trailers are designed to work with. The only other common wiring connector that you might encounter would be a 4-way. Which all you would need then to convert your 7-way to a 4-way would be the # PK12716. With the # PK12716 you would have the ability to tow a trailer with either a 7-way or a 4-way which would cover basically any trailer you would be able to rent.

  • Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller Compatibility with 2016 Thor Palazzo and Trailer Side Mount
The Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller - Wireless # C51180 can be hard mounted to the trailer but it cannot have any flop or movement of the unit because it is inertia based and needs to be able to find the consistent point to monitor movement from. The direction of the controller isn't an issue so if mounted to the side frame at an angle is okay. You can use an extension like the Curt Universal 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 7-Way Extension - 7' Long # C56080 which can be shortened or coiled...

Since the bed on your 2015 Ford F-250 is 6-3/4 feet and the camper is 8 feet, 7 inches you are correct about needing an extension. Otherwise it is possible for the truck to make contact with the trailer when turning. There are several extensions that will word with the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch # TLF1002-30 which does use a specific extension. I recommend the 21 inch long SuperTruss # TLE1521 because it combined with a ball mount will give you enough extension. You also...
