Question:
Hello! I’d like to utilize my factory 3” hitch on my 24 f450. My camper is 5000lbs and boat is 10k with the TW being right around 1100lbs. I think I need a 36” extension. I would like to use the best weight distribution system you have but still be able to keep my factory hitch. I use the truck for pulling other things and don’t want to have to use the super hitch if possible. Thank you!

Hey Shawn, I really like that boat! If you didn't already I recommend actually measuring to make sure a 36" extension is really what you need. At 36" the only thing that can handle that kind of tongue weight is the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1536 which will require the SuperHitch Magnum # TL27CR . The # TLE1636 is limited to 720 lbs with a WDH so unless you can get your tongue weight down I'm sorry to say it isn't happening.
If you can get away with a shorter extension the 21" TorkLift Cannon # TL46CR is the longest one that can handle 1,100 lbs of tongue weight and fit your 3" receiver. This is right at 1,100 lbs when using a WDH. Did you account for the additional length from the WDH shank and head? If you didn't, you can probably pull this off when the two are put together. Just make sure you aren't going over 1,100 lbs.
For a weight distribution hitch I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37141ET. This is designed for setups with a tongue weight of 1,000 lbs - 1,400 lbs with a gross towing weight of 14,000 lbs. You will probably need to move your spare since you have to add the Pole-Tongue Adapter for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ95-01-5950 to your boat trailer. You will also need the # ALL643216 for hitch ball installation.
For the shank you can use the # EQ90-02-4500 which is 18" long so you will be sitting a little over 36" with everything put together. The 21" version of the cannon doesn't come with a reducer to take it down to 2" so you will also need the Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # e26YR.
One way or another, you're looking at a lot of parts here, so ride quality probably won't be great. I do recommend adding the # BLU85QR on your truck to help reduce unwanted movement. If you're using a 7-way for the trailer you will also need # TLW6021 or # TLW6036 to extend your wiring. If you have any other questions feel free to reply below.
