Light changes how your Transit feels inside. Without it, the middle section stays dark and harder to use. This fixed side panel window swaps that solid section for glass, bringing in daylight and visibility without creating an open window.
This window replaces the solid metal panel in the passenger-side rear quarter of your 148-inch standard wheelbase Ford Transit. Instead of a blank section along the back of the van, you gain a fixed glass panel that adds visibility and light without adding vents or moving parts. That section stays sealed while opening up the side of the cargo area.
The glass is tempered and meets DOT and SAE standards for road use. Tempered construction allows it to handle normal vehicle movement and, if broken, it fractures into small pieces rather than sharp shards.
The rear quarter panel sits at eye level from outside and creates a direct view into the cargo space. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.
Cutting into the rear quarter panel is permanent. The glass has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the body. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the glass is set into place, that urethane bonds it to the body panel and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the wall cavity. This bond secures the glass and creates the weather barrier so you can bring in light without adding a vented opening.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this van Windows Direct Fixed OE-Style Passenger Side Rear Quarter Side Panel Window. Now, this has been designed to fit your 2015-to-current Ford Transit, the T150, T250 and T350. And you can see there I'm also including an image there just verifying with you where this window is going to be placed. So, it's very important that you go through our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer, input the year, make and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm for you if this is the window that's going to work for you, or if we have something comparable that will work for you instead. So, this is a fixed rear quarter panel window that's designed to match the factory stamping, so it's going to give your vehicle a clean OE-style appearance, rather than looking like an aftermarket add-on.
And this is going to fit both medium and high roof models, because they use the same rear quarter panel stamping. This window is made from DOT and SAE-compliant tempered safety glass. And as you see, it does have a 17% gray privacy tint, so hiding behind this glass here, you can see that it blocks me out pretty well. So, that darker tint's going to give you privacy, it's going to block about 83% of UV rays, and it's still going to allow you to see out from inside the vehicle. Because this is a fixed window, it's not going to slide, it's not going to open or vent.
It's primarily meant to bring natural light and outward visibility into your vehicle without adding another opening that needs moving hardware or seals. Now, as I'm sure you understand, installation is going to require you cutting the appropriate opening in the rear quarter panel and bonding the glass directly to the vehicle with automotive urethane, a continuous bead of urethane, such as the one that you see there on the top right, VW84ZR. Urethane is sold separately, but you will have to pick that up separately. And, a continuous bead of that urethane is going to go around the perimeter before the glass is set into place. The urethane, it serves two important purposes, it securely bonds the glass to the body, and it creates a primary weather seal that's going to keep water from getting into that wall cavity.
So, you see the urethane there for small windows, that's probably going to be exactly what you need in regards to quantity. You probably want to pick up some securing tape as well to hold it into place. So, all those items there we have available, and I've got the appropriate part number. So, for someone who's considering getting this, the main appeal is really going to be that you're getting a factory-style, permanently sealed privacy window that's going to add light and visibility while maintaining a streamlined exterior. It's going to be a particularly good choice if you want the benefits of an additional window, but you don't want ventilation or an opening window.
