Easy-Pull Ring Handle Is Easy to Grip and Pull

Easy Pull

Standard 4-way flat plugs have a small surface area to grip when you are pulling them apart, forcing you to wriggle the plugs back and forth to loosen them. Some users even pull on the wires. This can lead to broken terminals or ripped wiring. With the Easy-Pull harness, the plug has a large grip ring designed to make disconnecting a snap. Simply slide your finger into the ring and pull the plug away from the opposite plug to disconnect.

Easy Pull Rings

The Easy-Pull is also available as a vehicle-end 4-way flat plug. Combine the Easy-Pull trailer-end plug and vehicle-end plug for the easiest possible disconnection. With ring handles on both connectors, disconnecting is as simple as gripping the rings and pulling straight apart. No wriggling, no broken terminals, and no damaged wires.

The parking lights did not work after installation. Tested with multimeter found a short in the brown wire. A cheap product would not recommend.

I will have our customer service team reach out to you about this. Thanks for letting us know!

by:

The harness connected well with the other components and the plug mates easily when hooking up the trailer with the tow vehicle.

by:

Great product, hope it last a long time, the old wires were getting a bit worn out. I really like the loop to make it easier to unplug without putting too much strain on the connector.

It did well for a while, but within a few months, the pins began bending from just the weight of the small flap on my Ram pickup that covers the 4-pin connector. I switched to using a big 7-pin to 4-pin adapter and it lasted a couple more years. This weekend, it finally gave up the ghost and one of the pins came off in the adapter. I was able to fish it out and wired up an old plug I had stashed away just in case. Im trying to decide if I should buy another, but am not too sure I want to spend so much for something that will need to be replaced as often as a $2 plug!

by:

Really like the heavier construction jacket and pull ring since it will be installed on a snowmobile trailer.

by:

The Hopkins 4 way trailer wire connector is very well designed and manufactured. It is enough of an improvement over a standard connector that I recommend replacement of an undamaged standard connector.

by:

Absolute hot garbage. Arrived defective and never worked. A complete waste of money. If i could give zero stars i would. For $20 for a 4 pin plug you would think they test them before shipping.

Goodness me! This 4 pin connector does have a 3 year warranty. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

by:

Allows for easy insertion and removal without pulling on harness. Works great!

by:

The wiring was just what I needed and the shipping was quick. I will definitely be using etrailer more in the future.

by:

This is a great solution to a 4 wire plug for my trailer! Regular 4 wire plugs tend to fatigue over time. This rugged design is sure to last many years

by:

So much easier to use with the large pull handle. Great for use when your Trucks harness is in a tough to reach place

excellent

by:

Part as described and will meet my needs

by:

Not as durable as I thought it would be. I like the open hole design for easy plugging and removing, but the connection pins to the assembly themselves are subpar. I have a folding tongue and secured this onto a holder, when closing the arm, it folded the pins downward. After realizing the interference, i moved it to an upward position to allow for clearance but the damage was done. The pins bent and are now loose. Had to replace the entire harness.

by:

This is a great product, solid and great quality. Three things that would help the consumer. First thing would be to add solder-less connectors. Next thing would be to have about 6-8” of exposed wire to work with when coupling. And last thing would be to furnish a dust cover for the plug end.

by:

Connector works well. I thought the wire gauge was 14, but it appears to by 16?

by:

Nice solid, molded grab handle. I’m switching all my 4 wire trailers over to these harness. Well made

Have not had one issue in the year since I installed them. A+. Worth the extra cost

by:

A real upgrade to typical 4 wire trailer connectors. If you are doing any trailer wiring I strongly recommend this replacement.

Well made with an integrated cover like a outdoor extension cable the ring makes it easy to hold when inserting or removing the connection from your vehicle.

It would be perfect if it came with the very fine cover that Hopkins includes with most other variations of the "ring" style connector.

by:

Heavy duty. Finger hole make it more likely it will not get pulled out by the cable. Works good on our smaller trailers.

by:

Love the finger loop. Next time I need to replace my trailer light plug this will be my choice.

Kenneth

Excellently. Love the ring!

by:

very heavy duty trailer pigtail cable. This is what I need to prevent kinks and breaks in the wiring harness. Nothing like hooking up trailer lights that dont work because the wiring is easily damaged.

by:

This connector is much more robust than standard flat pigtails. I particularly like the sheathed cable rather than the exposed flat four-wire.

Kenneth

Working perfectly. The hole pull works far better than yanking on the wire leads when disconnecting

Great price, fast delivery and great customer service!

  • 4-Way Trailer Wiring Kit Recommendation for 2009 Mazda MX-5
A 6-pole flat connector is not a common style of trailer wiring connector so we do not have any adapters to go from a 4-way to a 6-pole flat. It sounds like you have the typical wire colors for your trailer (see attached picture). If that is the case then you will need to do exactly what you are talking about to install a 4-Way connector on your trailer like part # HM38134. The Brown wire should be the running lights which will need to be spliced together and then connected to the Brown wire on the 4-Way harness. To splice in a trailer end connector such as the 4-Pole Trailer End Connector # 18004 or Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Connector - Trailer End # HM38134 you will need to match the connector to your wires by function. Sounds like you'd just need to wire in the part # HM38134 to the wiring on your vehicle in place of the 4-way round so that your 4-way wiring can attach directly to it. If this was not what you are looking for let me know more info on what you have so that I can check further. The white (ground) is a 16 gauge wire. Typically 18 or 16 gauge wire is sufficient to run trailer lights, especially when you use LEDs since they draw much less power than incandescent bulbs.
