Question:
I mistakenly ordered bracket A91BB with the two-wire pigtail A46PB to mount my AL90 marker lights. I think I should have ordered bracket A91BOB. Rather than return/re-order the bracket I was hoping I could cut the pigtail plug in half to make it a single wire pigtail that wouldnt interfere with the self-grounding portion of the the A91BB bracket. But it appears the plug is too tall as it protrudes from the back of the bracket when connected to the light installed in the mounting bracket. Given the depth dimension for the A91BOB mounting bracket is the same as the A91BB self-grounding bracket I am concerned using the A91BOB bracket and A46PB wire plug will also result in the plug protruding from the back of the bracket and preventing a true surface mount. Can you confirm a true surface mount no hole needed except for wire can be obtained with an AL90RB/AB light installed in an A91BOB mounting bracket using an A46PB two-wire pigtail.

Expert Reply:
I believe what you are asking is the depth of 2-Wire Pigtail # A46PB, and it is 0.6 inches, which is just 0.1 inches more than the depth of both mounting brackets you were referring to, # A91BOB as well as the self-grounding # A91BB. This means it would protrude ever so slightly from the back of the bracket when attached to lights # AL90RB and # AL90AB.
