Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a trailer clearance and side marker light. This light adds or replaces the light on your trailer. It does function as both a clearance or side marker light when properly mounted. It features a really nice weatherproof housing as well as a lens unit. It's very strong and durable. It's got the black plastic base on it.
The clear lens protects the two red LEDs. Now, LEDs are great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, and they're much more efficient. With LEDs, you don't have to worry about replacing the bulbs, and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments. This light features a single wire design for power, and then it grounds at this mounting location through the mounting hardware. Mounting hardware is not included.
It mounts on the surface of your trailer, and it does feature the cutouts here in the base, so that way you can run the wiring out and still maintain that flat surface mount design. It is SAE and Department of Transportation compliant. Taking a look at the measurements real quick, starting with the overall length of the unit, measuring edge to edge we're looking at about two and five eighths inches. Edge to edge going this direction is about an inch and a quarter. The overall depth or thickness is three quarters of an inch, and the mount holes on this unit are separated on center by one and seven eighths of an inch, and the mount hole diameter is a quarter inch. We're gonna go ahead and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it, and then we'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights. That way you can see it in a low light setting.
Now, you can see here it sends out a bright consistent signal. Again, it features two red LEDs with a nice clear lens. Allows plenty of light to come through. The multi-diode design, having more than one LED, really helps optimize the overall light output. That's gonna do it for today's look at the trailer clearance and side marker light.
