Video Transcript for Fulton Round Swivel Marine Jack Review

All right, today on this boat trailer, we're going to show you the Fulton Round Snap-Ring Swivel Marine Jack, Part Number FTJ12000101. This jack swivel is very easy. You pull on this handle here. It rotates out of the way. It gives you much more ground clearance on your boat trailer. Let's go ahead and put it on the ground now and try it out. We have our jack at its retracted height, so let's go ahead and check it out.

From the bottom of the wheel on the ground to about the center of the pivot point, it looks like about 12 1/2 inches. All right, let's go ahead and raise the trailer up with the jack and we'll check out our full extended distance. We'll take the jack and rotate the handle clock-wise to raise it up. All right, let's go ahead and take our second measurement down from the ground up to the center of the pivot point. It looks about maybe just under 22 inches. Let's go ahead and cover a few other details.

First off, this has a zinc finish on all the metal construction. Now, the whole assembly is rated for 1200 pounds. For maintenance or lubrication, there's a sort 01:22 fitting right here, install your favorite grease. It does come already pre-lubricated, but maybe after a season or maybe every once in awhile, it wouldn't hurt to put a little shot in there. If we go down to the bottom, you'll see we have a large thermal plastic wheel that's 6 inches in diameter. The larger the wheel is, the easier it will be to run over uneven concrete or dirt.

Now, we have our jack installed on a 4 inch frame, but we have an extra set of holes in here and this will actually work with a 3 inch thick frame as well. Now, the frame won't get too much water in this, but we've got an overall boat length of about 3 3/4 inches. We're working with a frame that's 2 inches thick. If the location of the trailer fits these dimensions, you should be good to go. All right and lastly, it comes with all the hardware needed to install. Now, before we install this on our trailer, we need to do a little sub-assembly of the jack itself.

It's pretty simple. First off, we'll go ahead and install the handle. To install the handle, this bolt will be inside the handle, go through here, and lock that underneath. An 11/16th wrench will work on the bottom and actually the best fit for the bolt itself is actually a 15 millimeter. Next, we'll go ahead and put on the wheel. Right, let's go ahead and put our jack onto the trailer. Now, it's personal preference where you install this, but typically it's on the driver's side and as close to the front as practical. Okay, if you take a look here, we have a series of holes depending on how thick your frame is on your trailer. In this case, we'll use the 2 outer holes. We'll take a bolt, put it through the front. Do one in the back as well. We'll hold it in place. This bracket here, with the flat side towards the inside of the trailer, we'll install that. The lock nut will go on the back side of the bolt. Then we'll go to the bottom and install the other bolt. Okay, I got this side loosely installed. We'll do the same thing on the other side. Okay, we've loosely installed. Probably make some final adjustments the way you want it. We'll go ahead and tighten down our bolts. Now, to tighten these bolts up we're going to need a 9/16th wrench and a deep well socket. You want to run these down evenly on the top and bottom. With all 4 bolts tightened down evenly, our jack is already installed. With that, that will finish it for the Fulton Round Snap-Ring Swivel Marine Jack, Part Number FTJ12000101. .

Hello, Well lets say it works, but even with using a grease gun keeping it lubed it is very hard cracking, also the bottom wheel needs to be held down with your foot with pressure to get it to go down. plus the single spring lock button is a bit sloppy can't say I trust it as much as the double pin lock jack I had before. Not very happy with this item. 635499

What is the tongue weight of the trailer? This jack is designed for trailers with tongue weights up to 1200 lbs.

Fulton swivel jack , galvanized is a great tongue jack for the money . I have several different kinds of trailers, boat , motorcycle , enclosed , utility , all aluminum and all steel and I use Fulton swivel jacks on all of them . Super easy to install , won't rust and from etrailer fantastic price , fast shipping and unbelievable customer service . If I have a trailer with a welded in fixed tongue jack I usually remove it and put one of these Fulton Swivel Jacks on . The fixed tongue jacks are way to slow and you have to retract it a lot after mounting to your hitch in order to not hit the bottom/foot and if your in dirt roads it's even more likely to bottom out . Swivel jacks are way better and quicker . 635308

I have a 1998 Coleman Westlake Pop-up Camper. The original swivel jack has seen better days. It was rated at #500. I did a little measuring on the existing welded plate mount, popped the snap ring lose, ordered this jack, waited 24-hours for new jack to arrive, slid it on the old welded plate, replaced the snap ring, cranked it up and down; slept like a baby!!! It took 15- minutes. Thanks E-Trailer... I have purchased from you several times for different items and have ALWAYS been completely satisfied, with support text, videos and info you provide. 524833

I did not have to use the bolt on brackets as my trailer has a welded flange for the jack. Installation was very easy, took maybe 10-15 minutes-- but you will need a pair of snap ring pliers to do it this way. 497788

Fulton performance at a bargain price! Has much better rust resistance than other cheap jacks I've used/seen. Fulton takes care of the small details: A steel bushing for the castor wheel, lock nuts for all bolted connections, a grease zerk to maintain the gearbox, etc. Other cheap jacks ignore those fine points. My favorite feature: When swung up and retracted, no portion of the jack is higher than the tongue. That means it doesn't interfere with, say, a tongue box mounted close by. 410023

  • Trailer Jack Replacement For a 1997 Ranger Comanche Boat Trailer
It really looks like you have a Fulton Jack like the part # FTJ120W0301 based on the picture you submitted. The jack portion of the picture matches the jack I mentioned but the bracket on the trailer does look slightly different. Does the tube welded to your trailer that the jack mounts to measure 2 inches? If so this would be a match.
