How do I measure a snap ring how do i tell the difference between a outside ring and a inside snap ring

A snap ring like # FP908600 can be measured using a set of dial calipers or digital calipers to get the most accurate measurement possible. To measure the inside diameter, on the inside of the rind measure across at the widest point (not at the bottom where the two holes are).

To measure the outside diameter, measure from the outside of one side to the outside of the other side at the widest point (again not up and down like where the holes are).

Snap rings do not fit outside or inside of the jack. The inside I believe you are referring to is just he inside diameter. I made a picture to better illustrate this. If you can tell me the jack you have I can tell you if we have a snap ring to fit it. The snap ring fits on the mount that attaches to the trailer frame like in jack # FTJ12000101.
