Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • How To Use 17.5" Wheels On a 7,000 Lb Trailer Axle
In order to use 17.5" diameter trailer wheels you'll need to upgrade to 9/16" lug studs. There are no other options as all wheels this size use this size or larger since they are designed for more weight. In order to do this you'll need the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-865-7-1-K for standard or part # AKHD-865-7-1-EZ-K for EZ-Lube. Then, you can use a 17.5" diameter trailer wheel like the Aluminum Lynx Trailer Wheel part # 274-000006. I have attached a full list of wheel options...

  • What Diameter Wheel Stud Would 7k Lippert Axle Have
Hey Chris, I appreciate you getting me the axle tag from your trailer as it is helpful to know you have a Lippert 7k axle but that axle can have either a 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch, or 9/16 inch diameter wheel stud so I would need to get any info you can grab off of the hub. Hopefully there's a part number there so that I can determine for sure what you'd need.

  • Parts Needed to Add Tandem Timbren 7k Axle Less System to Trailer
Hey Tyson, yeah I'd say you got everything right! Using the Timbren Axle Less kit part # TASR7KS02 will work great in a tandem setup. The hubs part # AKHD-865-7-1-K are correct for the spindles of that kit, the brake assemblies part # 23-464-465 match these hub/drums, and the wheels part # AM20761B fit the hubs as well. The fenders part # HP92VR would work too. Do you have a tire picked out already?

Hello Brian, thanks for reaching out. We can provide the brakes and hubs for the 7,000 lb axles, but I am sorry to say we do not offer an axle that matches your specs. • Looking For Replacement For 8-219 Hubs
Hello Tristin, thanks for reaching out. You are correct the 8-219 is the part number for your hub. This hub uses a # 25580 (1.75" inner diameter) inner bearing and # 14125A (1.25" inner diameter) outer bearing. The seal is a 2.125" ID/3.376" OD. There are a few options for a replacement hub, so please select from the following: 1/2" Wheel Studs Grease Cap # 8-219-4UC3 1/2" Wheel Studs EZ-Lube Cap # 8-219-4UC3-EZ 1/2" Wheel Studs Oil Bath Hub # 8-219-9UC3 9/16" Wheel Studs Grease Cap #...

  • Looking For New Brakes And Hubs For 2018 Towmaster T-12DT Trailer With Dexter 7,000 lb Axles
Hello Sage, thanks for reaching out. We do carry hubs and brakes for the Dexter 7K axles. They use a standard brake size and bearing size. The only thing I would want to confirm is your stud size. They SHOULD be 9/16" but I would want to make sure. If you can provide the casting number from the current drums, I should be able to use that to confirm the specs. • Looking For Hub And Drum For Lippert 7,000 lb Axle V000448334 On 2019 Vanleigh Vilano 369FB
Hello Brian, thanks for reaching out. Our records show the Lippert V000448334 is a standard 7,000 lb axle that uses the # 25580 (1.75" ID) inner bearing and 02475 (1.25" ID) outer bearing. I do suggest you remove a hub and confirm this is what you have. If so, the hub you need is the following: - Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5.2K - 7K Axles - 12" - 8 on 6.5 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K This hub uses 1/2" studs. For 1/2" studs with a grease cap you'll want # 8-219-4UC3, For 1/2" studs with an E-Z lube cap you'll want # 8-219-4UC3-EZ, For 1/2" studs with an oil bath hub you'll want # 8-219-9UC3, For 9/16" studs with a grease cap you'll want # AKHD-865-7-1-K, For...

  • Parts Needed to Switch From Dexter Hubs With 5 Spoke Utility to Standard Bolt Pattern
This will be a pretty simple swap since the # 8-174-5UC3 uses a standard bearing combination. If your axle has a 6,000 lb capacity you can use the # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K as a replacement. This has a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. If your capacity is 7,000 lbs you can use the # AKHD-865-7-1-K but you will have to trade out the grease seals for # RG06-090 to match your spindle. • Recommended Hub and Drum Assemblies and Brakes for 7,000 Pound Triple Axle Trailer
To determine exactly which hubs you need you'll need to find your bearing numbers. Most likely you have # 25580 and # 14125A but verify to be sure. If these are correct you'll next want to find the diameter of your wheel studs and if you have E-Z Lube axles. If the studs are 9/16 inch use # AKHD-865-7-1-EZ-K for E-Z Lube axles and # AKHD-865-7-1-K for standard axles. For 1/2 inch studs instead use # AKHD-865-7-2-EZ-K for E-Z Lube or # AKHD-865-7-2-K for standard axles. Then you need...

  • Trailer Hub and Drum with 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern and 9/16 Studs for 7,000 Pound Axles
The size socket used isn't necessarily going to be the same as the nut or stud thread size. It is usually larger since the outer width of a hex head is larger than the threaded diameter. Hub and drum assembly # 8-219-13UC3 for 5,200 to 7,000 pound axles does indeed have a stud diameter of 9/16 and would take 9/16 inch lug nuts. We also have the similar etrailer model, # AKHD-865-7-1-EZ-K, that also has 9/16 inch studs. Both it and the above assembly are for EZ Lube axles. If your axles...

  • Replacement Hubs for 7,000 Pound Axle With 15123 Outer and 25580 Inner Bearings
The answer to your question depends on the bolt pattern you need. We have one hub that actually uses a # 15123 bearing which is the # 8-174-5UC3. This has a 5-spoke utility bolt pattern. More than likely you have an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern on your trailer. If that is the case you can use the # AKHD-865-7-1-K. The # 14125A outer bearing has the same 1.25" inner diameter so it will fit your spindle. However, I recommend measuring to find the inner diameter of your grease seal. The included...

The biggest difference between etrailer hub and drum assembly # AKHD-865-7-2-K and # AKHD-865-7-1-K is the wheel studs. Assembly # AKHD-865-7-2-K uses wheel studs that are 1/2" diameter x 1-5/16" long. Assembly # AKHD-865-7-1-K uses wheel studs that are 9/16" diameter x 1-5/8 long. So you would want to use the one that matches what the wheels require. I have linked video reviews of both for you.
