Question:
I have a 2018 Towmaster T-12DT that came with two Dexter 7000lb torsion axles. 16” wheel 8x6.5. I’m looking for drums with bearings and brake backing plates all around. I see lots of options. What ones do I need? Also do you carry fenders for it? Thanks

Hello Sage, thanks for reaching out. We do carry hubs and brakes for the Dexter 7K axles. They use a standard brake size and bearing size. The only thing I would want to confirm is your stud size. They SHOULD be 9/16" but I would want to make sure. If you can provide the casting number from the current drums, I should be able to use that to confirm the specs. Assuming they are 9/16" studs, here is what I recommend:
- etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left/Right Hand - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA
- Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 7,000-lb Axles - 12" Diameter - 8 on 6-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-865-7-1-K
The brakes are sold as a pair, and the hubs are sold individually. Keep in mind new brakes and hubs will need to be broken in or bedded. You can find those steps in the article I linked below.
As far as the fender, we do carry tandem axle fenders that may work. Can you tell me the length and height of the current fenders? I can see if we have anything to match.
