This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver brings dependable hauling power for everyday use. With a 4,000-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 600-lb maximum tongue weight, it’s built to tow small campers, boats, or utility trailers without breaking a sweat. The 2" x 2" receiver opening is the standard size most accessories are made for, so your bike racks, cargo carriers, or ball mounts will fit right in. It’s a solid choice when you need real strength without going overboard.
Installing this hitch is straightforward thanks to its custom-fit, bolt-on design. It’s fully welded and mounts directly to the frame using existing points—no welding required. That makes it a great project for a DIY install in the driveway using common tools. The precision robotic welds ensure everything lines up cleanly, so you can get the hitch on smoothly and start loading up faster.
Built from sturdy, square-tube steel, this hitch is ready for years of towing and carrying gear. The gloss black powder coat finish sits over a protective base layer to keep rust and corrosion in check. It holds up well against dirt, moisture, and road salt while keeping a clean look under the bumper. The hidden cross tube design also gives it a neat, factory-style appearance once installed—strong performance without cluttering up the rear of your vehicle.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Exhaust lowers for extra room
Light trimming helps the fit
Fish wires pull frame hardware
Plan for a little prep and light trimming
You'll lower the exhaust for more room, trim the heat shield and center fascia, and trim or bend small exhaust bracket tabs so the hitch fits cleanly.
Frame hardware takes a little patience
One access hole gets lightly opened up so you can pull the hardware into the frame with fish wires, and that is the part that adds most of the setup time.
The final fit is easier once everything starts loose
The hitch uses existing mounting points, and starting the nuts by hand before tightening and torqueing helps line everything up evenly.

It’s About 1 year later and this hitch still looks as good as new, no rust and no loss of color even though I live in the northeast where winter is harsh and the road salt destroys everything. I’ve pulled over 2,000 pounds on a single load with it and it has been flawless. I did have to remove the entire bumper while installing it rather than drilling holes like the included instructions required, but honestly it was easy to remove the bumper on my 2018 Jeep Compass and a lot less work than trying to drill holes on the heavy gauge steel chassis. I’m glad I made this purchase from etrailer and saved a ton of money compared to the mopar brand. This hitch gets 2 thumbs up from me.
