For your 2021 Jeep Compass I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13363. It has a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 4,000lbs and maximum tongue weight capacity of 600lbs.

Note: This trailer hitch receiver will not increase the towing capacity or tongue weight of your vehicle so you will need to refer to your vehicle's manual and follow the lower rating for safety.

I recommend this trailer hitch receiver over it's competitor, Draw-Tite, as Curt manufactures their trailer hitches in the US and are known to have a superior paint job that will outlast the Draw-Tite's paint job.
