Very happy with this hitch. Finish has held up well and is a very beefy addition to my 03'Duramax. Allows me to tow my heavy trailers without fear of breaking my factory hitch again (twice now).
Fairly easy to install as well.

by:

The product itself is great.! Will likely order a second for my other truck. I’d give it a 5/5 stars, Worked phenomenal on a long trip! Easy to install by yourself. However it came damaged, box rubbed/ripped through and the powder coat rubbed off in multiple places and when I reached out to try and get a replacement got nothing so I went ahead and installed so I could make my trip.

by:

Dealing with etrailer was a breeze! Nice well built receiver hitch, heavy duty. Took less than half an hour to install including removing the old hitch. I will definitely recommend etrailer.com.

by:

I almost didn't buy it from the reviews saying it hangs lower than the oem one. I'm very happy I did, its a nice hitch. Yeah it hangs a little lower but it's negligible cant even tell. Buy it....

2005 GMC Sierra

When I discovered that my factory installed hitch was only rated for 7500lbs I knew I needed something different. Etrailer came through again. This hitch is exactly what i needed. My camper has a GVW of 12K and i have the weight distribution hitch. Easy to install and the 4" drop just what i needed to lower my bumper also.

by:

Was actually shocked at how heavy duty this thing is. Took under an hour to install.

by:

Heavy Duty hitch and was easy to install. I really wish Curt would have extended the hitch further out as I can no longer carry my full size spare. I have 35" tall tires and I no longer have the room to carry the spare. The distance between the differential cover and hitch is shorter than the OEM hitch.

THE BEST SERVICE BY FAR!!!!!
I went through
3 different companies before contacting etrailer, they was very patient with me and went over everything to make sure the order was right.
I ordered it and asked for quick shipping, something almost no one offers on parts like this and BUT they have 4 DAY SHIPPING for only around $40, you can’t beat that!!! I ordered it Thursday, they said it will be here Thursday or Friday of the following week and it was here the following Tuesday!!!
Very quick and easy install.
I have 3 Curt Class V Hitches by the way.
one on the Chevrolet,Ford and Ram.

Thanks again for the Great service, y’all have a permanent customer.

AND THEY GIVE YOU STEP BY STEP DELIVERY PROGRESS!!!

by:

The trailer hitch is a super heavy duty trailer hitch. The only problem with the trailer hitches is very heavy to install underneath of the truck. I have a truck with a 10 inch drop bumper they was after market and they research the trailer hitch and said it would fit and it fits great love the trailer hitch installation had all the right Hardware all grade 8 bolts nothing cheap about it love it

Been using for a year the hitch is great.the paint is still in gear condition no peeling,or rusting.the hitch has handled everything I have hooked to it .

by:
2006 GMC Sierra

Looks like a well built hitch, installing over the weekend.

by:

Product arrived in a damaged box and had some scratches in various places. Packaging could have probably been more robust.
Other than that, the installation was quick and straightforward. Unless you regularly bench about 100 pounds, you'll need some assistance. Have yet to tow with it, but it should work just fine. Much better than the stock hitch that failed which prompted the replacement. 03 GMC Sierra 3500 CC Long bed, Dually, 6.6L.

I will have our customer service team reach out to you. I recommend using a rust resistant paint to touch up the hitch. You will then have the paint on hand for regular hitch maintenance.

by:

Still an excellent product and still highly recommend it!

Towed a lot with it and still working great, zero complaints.

by:

It easily bolted on to my 08 Silverado 2500HD. The floor of the 2 1/2" receiver hole is about 1" lower than the hitch (I think stock) I took off, but I knew that from reading other reviews.

by:
2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Great affordable hitch. Very easy to install. I installed it in about 30 minutes even without removing the spare tire. 05 3500 Silverado

by:

Great customer service. Product performs as should. Easy installation. Huge upgrade to the stock tow package, that had rusted through on my 08 silverado

by:

Great hitch and perfect fit for my truck. Was really a 2 man job but got it done by myself. The factory hitch is kind of a pain to get off on the 2008 HD as there are bolts up right at the bumper line.

The new one fit like a glove i did add to shackles to allow my safety chains to attach a little easier. Great product great customer service. etrailer is the best i love these guys have bought lots of stuff from them and will definitely continue to buy more. Thanks

Hitch receiver fit perfectly just as described, these folks give you step by step directions for start to finish install which expedite your entire process. Ordered Monday here on Wednesday! 11/10

2021 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pack TT Toy Hauler

This hitch receiver is built very well and bolted right up to the frame. Should be able to tow my 38' toy hauler with no issues with this thing. Just wished they provided the most rearward bolts and nuts if you have an off road bumper that doesn't require the bottom rear bolts for a stock bumper. It's also pretty heavy, definitely a two man job. All in all, great receiver.

by:

First off I am becoming a huge fan of E-trailers! I destroyed the stock hitch on my 02 Silverado 2500HD and was stressed about getting another hitch and having to wait for shipping. Not that this will happen every time but it was on my door step 3 days earlier than expected. The hitch fit great and was easy to install. I didn't realize how light duty the stock hitch was until mine folded in half while towing my equipment trailer. This Curt hitch is a huge upgrade and gives me peace of mind now when hauling heavy loads. Couldn't be happier!!!

by:

Best experience I’ve ever had ordering a product. So easy to see where your package is thru the whole process. Great staff

by:

This is one duty receiver. One piece hitch with all hardware included. I installed in my driveway in 25minutes with only basic tools needed. Hangs about 4" lower than stock receiver but eliminated Need for drop hitch

by:
2005 Ram 3500

Nice quality hitch easy install. Fast shipping. It sits a little lower then the factory hitch on a 2005 gmc 3500, so may want to double check if that may cause you an issue

by:

Install went well very happy with product, electrical receptacle bracket needed a little modifyingBy pulling the bracket out word and changing the angle had to trim a little plastic off the bumper

by:

Needs better packaging! The box came m angled

by:

Hitch arrived in a timely fashion with no shipping damage. Fit great on my hauler. Best shipping tracking that I have used! Will definitely recommend!

  • Hight Capacity Trailer Hitch for 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD without Rear Bumper
Since the hitches we offer for your 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD attach to the frame and not the bumper they will all still fit and work great. The Curt Class V hitch # C15703 would be an excellent option as it has plenty of weight capacity as it's rated for up to 18,000 lb trailer weight.

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2001 Silverado 2500HD w/ a 12,000 lbs Capacity
Not confusing at all. I took a look online and the 2001 Silverado 2500HD has a 12,000 lbs bumper pull towing capacity and a 15,200 lbs 5th wheel towing capacity. It's just two different capabilities of the truck. The extra weight of a 5th wheel trailer can be better supported when mounted more towards the center of your truck's frame. With the 12,000 lbs capacity in mind, I recommend the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver item # BWHDRH25182. This is the only hitch available for...

The distance between the vertical mounting holes is 14-1/2" center to center, and the horizontal mountings holes are 39" apart center to center as shown in the included diagram. The Curt # C15703 is a confirmed fit for the 2001-2010 Chevrolet and GMC 2500/3500 Trucks. If you can tell me what Year/Make/Model your truck is I would be happy...

  • 2-1/2 Inch Class V Trailer Hitch for a 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0, 5-Speed, 14 Bolt Rear End
The 2000 model year was a split model year for GM trucks (actually it started for the 1999 model year but continued until about 2002). This is when they went from being C or K series to being badged as Silverados/Sierras. So the issue with filters and whatnot may have stemmed from that. So for a 2000 there were both C/K series and Silverados. To make things more confusing Silverado was a trim on the C/K series trucks. So it is possible you have a 2000 C or K series 2500HD with the Silverado...

The longest hitch extender that fits a 2" receiver is going to be the 18" Draw-Tite Hitch Extender item # HE18. • Heavy Duty Hitch for my 2003 Chevrolet 2500 HD
After checking some information it appears that the maximum towing capacity of the 2003 Chevrolet 2500 HD is 12,000 lbs. This would be the max and depending on options it may be lower than that. I recommend using the owner's manual to determine exactly what the towing capacity of your exact configuration is. With that said the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15703 is a very heavy duty hitch which will exceed your vehicle's capacity. The BulletProof Hitches Adjustable 2-Ball Mount for...

Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15703 hangs pretty low on a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500. From the bottom of the bumper to the top of the hitch receiver it is approximately 4 inches. I have included a picture showing the gap. A similar hitch, # C15302, which also fits your truck is much tighter to the bumper with only a fraction of an inch of space between the bumper and receiver.

  • Hitch Extension Recommendation for a 2004 GMC Sierra for Towing 5,500 lb Boat Trailer
First thing you will need to do is install a hitch with a 2-1/2 inch opening like the Curt Hitch part # C15703 so that you can use a longer hitch extension that is going to have a decent amount of capacity. Then for a hitch extender the part # C45048 would be a great option as it has enough capacity and can be used to give 24 or 34 inches of extension.

  • Recommendation for Upgrading to 18K Trailer Hitch on 2006 Chevy Silverado
Going to an 18,000 pound rated trailer hitch on your 2006 Chevy Silverado 3500 will indeed require you to switch to a 2-1/2 inch receiver. This is not a problem though because as you mentioned we have various adapters available such as the Curt # C45405 that will reduce this opening to 2 inches so you can continue to use your existing accessories. Because the sleeve slides into the hitch receiver it won't restrict the use of your accessories at all in terms of capacity or function and it...

Both of the Curt hitches that you listed are confirmed to fit your 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. The difference between the two can been seen in these hitches' features. The Curt Class V Hitch # C15302 that uses the 2 inch receiver opening, is the hitch that I recommend. The 2 inch opening is the more common size for use of a hitch accessory.
