Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

The product is awesome, but the order was shipped in complete. I was informed that a similar hitch receiver to what I originally ordered was in stock and ready to ship instead of waiting for the one that was ordered. Only $XX more, no biggie right? I got the brackets in a couple of days but NO cross bar. They shipped it out and by the time I got it, it was basically the same time frame as the original order would have taken and I spent $XX more. Not real happy with the shipping side of things with etrailer.

by:

Great universal fit. Weld in was easy and it’s the perfect size for my Freightliner step van. Sturdy, well made product.

by:

Hitch came on time and was easy to install being a weld on hitch. Was a good choice for my flatbed as the truck has a frame extension on it from a service box which meant a factory type hitch was not a option. Looking forward to using it more and not having to worry about hitch failure.

by:

9 out of 10 times e-trailer gets it 100 percent right.

by:

etrailer's staff was very helpful in evaluating options for my situation. This hitch works perfectly with my Class C Motor home (RV)

by:

The hitch is well built. Having 4 wheel drive it gave me the flexablity I needed to mount to the front of my motorhome. I use to carry my cooler rack for surf fishing.

by:

Product was exactly what was needed for our unique application. Required very little modification to fit our fire truck. Thanks

by:

I like the fact that it is adjustable.

by:

Great receiver, easy install fast shipp ing.

by:

I purchased a class c motor home and found out after the purchase that the trailer hitch was only for supporting a basket up to 150 lbs. I needed a REAL trailer hitch. Etrailer.com sent me a wonderful hitch - the fabricator that installed it was very pleased with it, it pulls my truck with no worries, it was a reasonable price and came within a week of ordering. I love it, just what I needed - Thank you

It is a blessing. Very good product. Thank you still

by:

The trailer hitch from eTrailer arrived quickly. It is a robust hitch with plenty of towing capacity. I have a GMC box truck and will be using it to tow a utility trailer from New York to Arizona. Tow hitches for box trucks are hard to find. This one has a tow capacity of 16,000 lbs. I am pleased with the quality of the unit. I will gladly recommend eTrailer to others.

I was looking for a hitch for our Ford E 450 shuttle bus. Not have much luck with local hitch installers.( The problem with the E 450 its frame is wider then the F models) I looked at some blogs and found out about etrailer found the 41990-07 hitch. Put it on had a local shop weld up the ends works great! I would highly recommend etrailer they called me to confirm the order and then when the order was shipped very happy with there products!
Thanks !

by:

This was a good purchase, but it ended up too high. The dimensions on this product were clear, but I couldn't decipher the dimensions on the deeper drop products. This one is fine, but if you want to tow a regular trailer behind a tall truck you should probably get a bigger drop on the hitch.

As it is, I'll have to raise the trailer to use this appropriately.

by:

Needs a few more details included on the website in regards to dimensions. A few detail drawings would help. Would make it a lot easier when trying to decide which and what plates are needed for your specific set-up. In case there are differences for example maybe I have a truck with a service bed but it was fitted after market and it isn't like it would be from the factory.

We do have a diagram on the product page but if there were any measurements that were missing that you needed, please let me know and I will have them added. Here is also an expert answer that gives a visual of the hole spacing on the brackets:

Very good place to shop got the hitch I wanted for a great price fast delivery nothing to complain about the hitch is already installed and all the accessories that I was looking for that had them in stock fast shipping I give them an a+

by:

I have not installed this yet but it is very stout / well made and installation seems very straight forward. This is not the first thing I have purchased from etrailer and it for sure won't be the last. Great selection of products and OUTSTANDING customer service.

by:

Great company to deal with. Product was exactly what I needed for a custom installation, easy to install and works well.

by:

Worked perfectly on a 3500 mile cross country trip. No issues at all towing an 87 Bronco.

by:

Hi
I’ve received the hitch but didn’t
have time to get it install. Etrailer was very helpful with all the question I have, there support team was great.

THANK YOU

The perfect solution for my 2015 Ford Transit converted mini school bus. FYI, the factory hitch will NOT work on these.

  • Hitch Tube Recommendation for Fabricating Hitch to RV
If you are planning on having a crossmember welded to the frame of your trailer you would be best off just having the part # 41990 welded to the frame as that has the hitch opening already welded to it. Or we have the part # 41990-07 which has the hitch attached to drop brackets.

These will all be rated to 16,000 pounds towing and 1,600 pounds of tongue weight and use a 2" receiver opening. They will all also fit a frame that is up to 44" wide, so they will have absolutely no problem fitting the 34" wide frame of your F53. I do have an option for you but most trailer hitches designed for motorhomes max out at 5,000 lbs. That said, there are options for a higher weight capacity but it won't be as simple as bolting it on as they require welding, the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 41990-07 is our best option for this and we do recommend professional installation. Since there are no custom fit trailer hitches for your 1977 Jeep Gladiator (J10) you will want to look at the selection of weld-on truck hitches such as # 41990-07. We do carry universal hitches that are rated for 10,000 pounds and above, like the Draw-Tite part # 41990-07. I've linked the selection. With that being said a lot of times when a motorhome is rated for 5,000 pounds towing it isn't the hitch that's the limiting factor. I suggest making sure the Class A you purchase is rated for towing up to 10,000 pounds because if it's not adding a higher rated hitch isn't going to help you at all.

Yes, the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41990-07 can be bolted on rather than welding. This will require you to drill the appropriate 5/8" bolt holes in your frame. You must install at least 4 bolts in each side of the frame with the top 2 holes being mandatory holes that must be used and allowing for you to choose 2 of the bottom 3 holes for the remaining 2 holes.
