Question:

What brand and size hitch would you recommend for our recently purchased toy hauler. 28 ft Weekend Warrior with a bed in the front, and we drive a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD pickup. Do they make one with a 2 1/2 inch receiver? Gross weight of the trailer is about 7500 dry weight.

For your 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD you would want the Curt hitch part # C15703 as it has been confirmed to fit your vehicle and has a 2-1/2 inch hitch opening like you said you were interested in.

I attached a install video plus a link to a page that has all of the ball mounts we carry that would fit the hitch. You would want to first determine the amount of rise/drop you would need to tow your trailer level and then select it from the filters on the link.
