It came earlier than expected. All bolts and instructions were in package.

by:

Excellent quality and easy to fit... It went on without a hitch..

After about a year of towing with the bumper hitch, I saw that the hole for the ball was almost twice as big and the bumper was beginning to crack. I put off getting a tow bar because I thought it would be 3 or 4 hundred dollars. Then I found the Curt trailer hitch on the internet for less than $150! The instructions were very clear and I was able to install it myself in about 45 minutes.

2002 Dodge Dakota

A known issue .. the packaging is lousy. Both ends broke through on opposite sides of the box. Only real issue - one end was bent inward at an incorrect angle. Fortunately, I was able to put it in a large vise and straighten it.

by:

good service, fast shipping Thanks

by:
1998 Dodge Dakota

Great fit, easy install, no drilling!!!

by:

These hitches fit every time and bolt on with little effort or time. Very handy and quick - love it. Have purchased three from e-trailer and will continue to do so.

2000 Dodge Dakota

Easy no-drill installation on my 2000 Dakota. Nice hitch that feels solid. My only complaint is packaging. The mounting fins/tabs pushed through the cardboard box on box sides. Each side of the box had a hole that was approximately 2 inches x 8 inches. I was worried this could let the hardware packet fall out of the box. Luckily, they had the foresight to tape the hardware and instruction packet to the receiver with lots of packing tape.
Package it in a more puncture resistant manner and it would get 5 stars.

by:

Ordered a trailer hitch with mount for my truck true fit easy to install took me less than 20 min. This is my Second time ordering from this company wouldn't shop anywhere else, easy online ordering and fast delivery great customer service highly recommended.

by:

Packaging needs to be greatly improved, my hitch was sticking out of the box in two places when it arrived. One arm was bent bad enough that I had to put it in a vise and beat it with a hammer to get it back in place. Overall the hitch is excellent.

by:

This product from Curt is a great piece.
It installed just as explained in the video.
I've used it to pull a 24' trailer with a car on it
and it worked as intended. For sale, my old one!

1999 Dodge Dakota

Product fit just like they said it would on my 99 Dakota sport 4x4 extended cab. I had to make adjustments because of rear bumper to bumper accident in the past but everything fit great. Ended up selling the truck but helped add value to truck.

by:

Easy to install. My only challenge was the rusted bolts on my truck. I will also have to buy a new hitch component since the one I have does not line up with the holes on this Hitch Receiver.

I love my new trailer hitch for my ‘02 Dodge Dakota! Perfect fit, arrived earlier and had the right hardware for mounting. Looks great!

by:

Good product but terrible packaging. It's a good thing hardware was taped to hitch. Box was destroyed when I got it.

  • How To Install the Curt Hitch C13145 on a 2003 Dodge Dakota Sport
Yes, you will need to remove one existing bolt on your driver side frame rail in order to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13145 or any trailer hitch for that matter on your 2003 Dodge Dakota Sport. In regards to your spare tire, this will not need to be removed or lowered to perform the install whereas most others do require this. As you mentioned, this trailer hitch is a no drill option for all 97-04 models. For a trailer wiring harness, I highly recommend the Curt T-Connector...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch That Is Least Visible On 1994 Dodge Dakota
The trailer hitch I recommend for your 1994 Dakota with the least visibility is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C13145. This trailer hitch is designed with the receiver tube even with the horizontal bar of the hitch. Most hitches have the receiver tube welded below the bar, making it more visible. None of the aftermarket hitches will be completely hidden as they are mounted below the truck frame but this hitch is the least visible of the hitches we offer. If you plan on doing...

  • Difference Between Curt Class III # C13145 and # C13280 for a 2003 Dodge Dakota
The primary differences between the Curt # C13280 and # C13145 are cosmetic. The C13280 would be mainly concealed behind the rear bumper, while the C13145 would be visible. The hitches have identical capacities, so either would work great from a functional standpoint. Because there's not an important difference between the two, I'd personally choose the C13280 because of its lower cost. It just so happens we offer a small trailer designed for carrying kayaks and other items that would...

  • Does The Spare Tire Need To Be Removed To Install The Curt Hitch, # C13145, On A 2004 Dodge Dakota
The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # C13145, will fit your 2004 Dodge Dakota Club Cab with the spare tire underneath the truck. You will not need to remove the spare tire. The only note on the installation instructions for the Curt hitch for your vehicle is that the exhaust hanger may need to be repositioned. I am sending a link to the installation instructions on the Curt hitch.

You will not need to remove your spare tire to install the Curt Class III Round Tube Trailer Hitch # C13145 on your 1993 Dodge Dakota with and extended cab. • What is the Towing Weight Capacity of a 2004 Dodge Dakota
The towing capacity of your 2004 Dodge Dakota is 3,400 to 4,650 lbs. If you were to install the Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13145 which has a Gross Trailer Weight of 5,000 lbs and a Tongue Weight of 500 lbs your Dakota would be the limiting factor and you would still only be able to haul up to 4,650 lbs. Please keep in mind that the Tongue Weight of your trailer should be between 10-15 percent of the GTW of your trailer.

  • Curt Class III Receiver Hitch for 1999 Dodge Dakota
Curt actually offers two different Class III hitches for the 1999 Dodge Dakota. The Curt # C13280 features a square crossbar tube that will be concealed behind the truck's bumper. The only visible portion of the hitch would be the receiver tube right under the back bumper. The Curt # C13145 uses a round tube crossbar, most of which would be visible from behind the vehicle. Both hitches would install in the same manner, as you can see from the instructions I'll link to, and both hitches...

If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level,...
