Video Transcript for Bulldog Winch Ratcheting Tie Down Straps Set Review

So in this kit we really get everything we need to strap everything down correctly and get our straps to and from wherever we need to strap stuff down at. So we are going to get a bag and we are going to get a heavy-duty grade 8 ratchet handle. And on the other end, we're also going to get a grade 8 hook as well and it's going to be a twist hook and it's going to have a little latch that's going to lock it into place. We are going to get four axle straps as well, going to get some covers too so it's going to prolong the life of our axle straps. We are going to get some cinch straps as well too. So whenever we have excess we can kind of bundle it up and get it all together as you can see here.

And that's basically all you really need to get anything strapped down.So let's go ahead and take everything out of the box. First thing I noticed is the bag is something I would definitely use. It's a nice bag. It's got pockets on the inside, zipper on top and some webbing on the outside. So it's definitely going to be able to fit all four of our big straps, all four of our axle straps, our strap covers and last but not least we have our cinch straps.

All that's going to fit in there pretty nicely and pretty heavy-duty zipper as well. So it's always a big thing with me because as you can see, I'm kind of hard on zippers. We do have a lot in there but it is going to be able to hopefully handle all the stress that we put on it. It's a little tight fit, but everything is still in the packaging. So definitely a good bag and it fits everything that you need. So let's actually go ahead and use all this stuff.

So we're going to start by putting our cover on our axle strap. There's just a hook-and-loop on one side. So it's not a sleeve so you don't have to struggle to slide that all the way through. So we're going to do that, insert the strap and then start re-hooking the hook-and-loop. And it's using extremely soft material and has a little padding in there as well.

So not only is it going to add to the longevity of your axle straps, it's also going to protect whatever machine you may be hauling. And that's always a plus whether it's just a Side-by-Side that you like to run around at the farm or a vehicle or even equipment that you use to do your job. It's always nice buying products that are going to take care of your investments. So once we get this all done, we can just go ahead and find a good spot to cinch everything down on. It's going to change depending on what you may be hauling. I'm just going to use this lower control arm on our Ranger here. Make sure you get it nice and in place, making sure you're avoiding any brake lines or anything that could get damaged. And we can do that same exact thing on the other side. So both our axle strap here and the hook on our actual ratchet strap, as you can see, perfect fit, definitely impressed by that. And then the next cool thing is the actual ratcheting part of this strap. A lot of the times you have straps that are just going to have an extra little bit of strap and then a hook. This one is just integrated into one. So this one's always supposed to be the one that goes to your trailer and not underneath your vehicle. But this is pretty awesome in my opinion. I like this a lot just because even the smallest of spaces we have to tie down to, it's going to make it really easy to be able to get the right length set up for whatever you're tying down. Definitely impressed just because this makes it super, super easy. Between just how these ratchet straps are just designed and everything that comes with the kit, I would say this is probably one of the most enjoyable situations I've been in with ratchet straps because you guys probably know just as much as me, a lot of the times, it's just a big tangled mess. All this stuff, it's definitely high quality and I would definitely recommend it.It only took me a couple of minutes to get everything properly secured down, which is always a plus for me. So you see all this excess strap that we're not doing anything with, instead of just slapping around when you're going down the road, it actually could damage your plastics. You'd be surprised how much force these things carry when you're going down the highway at high speeds. That's what these cinch straps are going to do. So we're just going to kind of fold up all of our excess once everything's tied down and these cinch straps will be able to wrap around it wherever really. I'm going to just put it back on the actual strap itself. But all you really need to do, it's going to be hook-and-loop, so I need to undo that be patient with me. Okay. So I'm going to wrap that around, like so. Go through that loop, like so and then no more mess. We have a little bit flapping right here, but that's nothing compared to all the strap we weren't using. So we're going to go over some tech specs with you guys. These ratchet straps are going to have a safe working load limit of 3,335 pounds, but we are going to have a maximum load break strength of about 10,000 pounds. The ratchet straps themselves are going to be about two inches wide and eight foot long. The axle strap dimensions are going to be two inches wide as well, but they're going to be three foot long. The cover is going to be the same exact dimensions of the axle strap, of course. And then the cinch strap dimensions are long enough to go around even the biggest of rolled up straps as you see here. We have a bunch of excess so even if you have a lot more than this, you won't worry about it not being big enough to go around that big wad of strap.Other than that, it's basically all you really need to know, I will give you my 2 cents on the deal. I don't like messing with ratchet straps and I have an assortment in my garage and it's just a mess. So I would recommend grabbing a kit. You don't have to grab this kit. I just think having the bag is a biggest thing for me. Axle straps are extremely useful. That is 100% correct. I literally love the axle straps just because you can use them in a whole lot of different ways. The 17 piece kit is the only one that comes with those axle straps and all those extra parts as well. So I just say if you're in the market for it, definitely go and grab the 17 piece set, but we do have smaller ones here at etrailer.com. But this is something that I'm going to keep in my garage. So I don't have to worry if I have the right ratchet straps. Make sure this bag is in the back of your truck and you're ready to go.

Product as described. I trusted the tie downs to secure several high $ street rods. They did not disappoint.

The Ratchet strap tie downs worked and continue to work great. I have tied down and moved several muscle cars, 71 Bronco and street rods with no issues. They continue to perform and I highly recommend them.

These are great quality straps and hardware that I use for my ~4,500 lb (wet) Jeep TJ. This was a great upgrade from the standard flat straps with u-shaped hooks as these have clips that keep them from coming undone should they loosen. Something simple that these include are the velcro retaining straps that keep the loose ends from flapping, and an added bonus is they can be wrapped around the ratchet to keep the safety latch engaged.

They work great. No problems at all. They would be easier to use if I was so old and jumbo sized. No fault of your product though.

Great product! Glad I bought it. Rather pay the money any day than purchase something inferior and have to hassle with it. Have used twice now to trailer my Kubota RVT X1100 C which weighs around 2400 lbs. Will give it a better workout when I need to tow my truck or various cars which weight as much as 8000 lbs. Pros: Large webbings with strong sewn seams. Heavy duty hardware with excellent plating No webbing or hardware slippage while towing. I also like the heavy duty storage bag; keeps everything together Cons: Pricy, but you get what you pay for. Not a fan of those safety catches on the hooks.

I bought a car trailer this week- always wanted one. I tried the usual ratchet straps and didn't like them. I found this kit on the internet and bought it. It was well thought out and the pieces are very well built. Now I have to go find someone's car to haul. I would recomment this to anyone wanting to tie their car down to a trailer.
