Will Curt Hitch # C13145 Fit 2003 Dodge Dakota With Aftermarket Bumper Installed

Question:

Do you know if the Curt C13145 trailer hitch will fit on my 2003 Dakota with the Westin Fry Diamondstep bumper installed? If not do you sell a hitch that will work with that bumper?

The Curt trailer Hitch, part # C13145, is a fit for your 2003 Dodge Dakota if you do not have a tube bumper or aftermarket fascia installed. I spoke with my contact at Curt and they took the measurement for me that may help you out. It measures 4-1/2 inches from the frame to the top of the receiver tube. If you can measure from the frame under your Dakota where the hitch is to be mounted down, and you have more than 4-1/2 inches to the bottom of your bumper you will have plenty of room for this hitch. No drilling is required for installation. This hitch has a 2 inch receiver opening.

I also recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit, part # 989900. This kit includes 2 ball mounts for 2 inch receivers, a 1-7/8 inch ball and a 2 inch ball along with the pin and clip and a bag. I have attached a link to a product review for the ball mount kit.
