  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2015 Honda Odyssey
For a trailer hitch for your 2015 Honda Odyssey we'd recommend the Draw Tite part # 75270 which is a confirmed fit and is a 2 inch hitch and has plenty of towing capacity for towing. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. For trailer wiring you'd then want the # 118521 which is a confirmed fit as well and is the most reliable option we have. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well. Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested...

  • Ball Mount Needed for etrailer e98853 Class III Hitch on 2011 Toyota Sienna
When we installed the etrailer brand # e98853 Class III hitch on a 2011 Toyota Sienna, we found that the inside top edge of the receiver tube sat 12 inches above the ground. The rise/drop of the ball mount you need will depend on the coupler height of the trailer you're wanting to pull. With the trailer jack extended so that the trailer frame is level, measure the distance from the bottom edge of the coupler to the ground. I'll link you to a help article that fully explains how to take...

  • Will Curt Hitch Ball 40038 Work with Cushioned Ball Mount # AMSC6
The Curt 2" Hitch Ball # 40038 that you referenced will work perfectly with the Cushioned Ball Mount # AMSC6. This hitch ball features the needed 1" diameter shank and it's plenty long enough for a secure attachment. If you had a level setup with your 5-1/4" drop ball mount this 6" drop # AMSC6 is the better choice over the 4" drop model. This is because the rear of your tow vehicle is going to sag/drop just a bit when the trailer is hooked up, which will bring you closer to that original...

  • Gaining Rise With a Hitch Ball
You can get get a hitch ball with a 1 inch diameter shank that will give you 2 inches of rise with a 2 inch ball # C40034, though that is going to limit your towing capacity to 6,000 lbs. If you needed to stick with a 10,000 lb towing capacity, then you would need a new ball mount, # C45338 for 8 inches of drop, # AMSC6 for 6 inches of drop or if four inches of drop was needed, # AMSC4. I have added links to video reviews of each of these ball mounts for you to take a look at.

  • Will The Cushioned Ball Mount # AMSC6 Help Reduce Bounce On Coachmen Clipper Trailer
The item you selected, Cushioned Ball Mount, part # AMSC6, will help a bit in any noise or bounce of the drawbar. The recommended rise and drop for a ball mount on your 2011 Volkswagen Routan is 2 inch rise and 4 inch drop. You will need to use Cushioned Ball Mount, part # AMSC4. Another thing that can contribute to the rough ride you are feeling is low tongue weight. The tongue weight on your Coachmen Clipper 1285 SST may be very low. Proper loading of the trailer, with heavier items...

  • Recommended Ball Mount and 4-Way Wiring For a 2017 VW Golf With EcoHitch Receiver # 306-X7309
When we installed the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7309 on a 2017 Volkswagen Golf we found the receiver height to be 11". This may be different on your vehicle depending on trim level and tire size. With most small trailers having a coupler height around 16", I recommend using the Cushioned Ball Mount # AMSC6. This has a 4-3/4" rise and the cushioned design will help to reduce vibration/shock transfer from the trailer to your Golf. You will need either a 1-7/8" Ball # C40002...

  • Trailer Hitch for 2021 VW Tiguan Without Weld Nuts In Frame
Some of the 2021 VW Tiguan models have a different bumper set-up which means that the factory bolts and weld nuts typically used to install the hitch won't be present. Curt recently realized this problem, and began including installation hardware for vehicles that don't have the OEM bolts and weld nuts. This is explained in the linked installation instructions. We've checked our current stock of the Curt # C13381, and found they all include the alternate hardware, so you'll be good to go...

  • Trailer Hitch Installation for 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250
The Curt # C13197 Class III hitch is a confirmed fit of all 2015 models of the Mercedes-Benz GLA. I don't have any specific installer recommendations other than our staff at our facility in Wentzville MO, but I'd recommend using a reputable body shop in your area to do the install for you. As you can see in the video I've linked for you, the installation is pretty extensive, involving temporarily removing the rear bumper and fascia as well as the taillight assemblies. A body shop would...

  • Will a Cushioned Ball Mount Work with Surge Trailer Brakes
The cushion inside of the Convert-A-Ball cushioned ball mount # AMSC4 would have only a slight affect on the surge coupler on your trailer. You may not even notice it. The cushion is very dense and the more pressure that is put on it the firmer it gets. It would take more force to compress that cushion than to actuate the surge coupler. Cushioned ball mount # AMSC4 has a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop but there are other options if you need a different rise or drop to tow the trailer level: #...

  • Ball Mount with 6 inch Drop and Interchangeable Ball Set Recommendation
The thickness of the sway control bracket part # RP26003 that you would need is 3/8 of an inch. The ball mount you are interested in part # AMSC6 calls for a shank that is 2-1/8 inches long. So the interchangeable ball set you would need would be the # 900b as it comes with a 2-1/2 inch long shank.

Your Rock Tamers Heavy-Duty, Adjustable Mud Flap System # ERT00108 requires 1 inch of clearance on the shank of the ball mount to fit like what you see in the picture I attached. That means that you would need to have at most 3 inches from your hitch pin hole on your 2016 Ford F-150 to the end of the hitch opening for the Rocktamer to fit on the # AMSC6. • Recommendation to Help Back and Forth Movement in Trailer Hitch While Towing
To help alleviate the back and forth chucking you are experiencing with your 2 inch receiver there are a couple of things I recommend doing. • Choosing the Right Ball Mount for 2 Different Trailers and a 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 w/2-1/2 Inch Hitch
First, I would use a 2-1/2 inch ball mount for the 2-1/2 inch hitch on your 2013 Dodge Ram 2500. Going with the matching size will fit better than using a reducer sleeve. Normally I would say an adjustable ball mount is the way to go except you have reservations about them. For fixed ball mounts you will need to do some measuring to determine the correct rise or drop you will need...
