This Curt Class I trailer hitch adds a solid, everyday use receiver rated for 2,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 200 lbs maximum tongue weight. It’s perfect for small trailers, utility hauls, or adding a bike rack or cargo carrier for extra room when you need it. The 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" opening keeps it compact while still giving you plenty of versatility for towing or carrying gear.
You don’t need a full shop setup to get this hitch on your car. The precision, robotic-welded frame bolts up using the included hardware kit—no welding required. Some existing holes just need to be enlarged, which can be done with basic tools in the driveway. Because it’s custom fit and built to line up with factory points, the install process goes smoothly without cutting or major modification.
The sturdy square-tube steel frame is fully welded for strength and reliability on the road. A gloss black powder coat finish over a protective base coat keeps rust and corrosion at bay. It’s a simple, clean look that stays sharp even after years of towing or carrying accessories through tough weather.
The cross tube tucks up behind the bumper so only the receiver is visible. That hidden setup gives you a cleaner appearance and helps maintain ground clearance. Whether you’re towing a small trailer or mounting a bike rack, it looks like it belongs there instead of standing out from the rear of your vehicle.

Still a solid hitch. As with anything that’s being jolted around under heavy loads I do recommend rechecking the torque after a few uses to make sure everything stays tight. After the checking and having to torque down some more it’s been good.

Sometimes it is necessary to file to enlarge access holes in order to get the hardware through.

After 2 New England winters I took a few minutes to scotch brite and touch up to look brand new. Only minor surface rust but wanted to keep it protected and looking new.

We found that when we installed on a 2019 Audi A3 that once the hardware was fish wired into place that the holes were slightly off so we used a die grinder to enlarge the holes on the frame enough to install. You can see that at time stamp 3:49 in the video install below.
