With a 5,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 500 lbs maximum tongue weight, this Class III hitch receiver gives you the strength to tow small campers, boats, or utility trailers with confidence. When used with weight distribution, it can handle up to 5,500 lbs GTW and 550 lbs TW. The 2" x 2" receiver opening makes it easy to connect most standard towing accessories, from cargo carriers to bike racks, without the need for adapters.
This hitch is built for do-it-yourself installation. The fully welded design bolts directly onto the frame using the included hardware kit—no welding required. It’s designed for a precise fit that lines up with factory holes, so you can get it installed in a driveway using basic tools. You won’t have to cut the fascia or make extra modifications just to get it mounted.
Made from powder-coated steel with a gloss black finish over a protective base coat, this hitch resists rust and stands up to harsh weather and road conditions. The precision, robotic welding maximizes strength and ensures a solid fit from end to end. It’s a heavy-duty build meant to stay strong through years of towing and hauling.
The standard 2" receiver size works with popular towing setups including ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo platforms. Whether you’re pulling a light trailer or adding extra storage space for a trip, this receiver gives you flexibility without worrying about mismatched equipment. Ball mount, pin and clip are sold separately so you can choose exactly what fits your setup best.

I ended up selling my vehicle but I would definitely buy this again from etrailer! The videos and explanations were spot on and the hitch is solid and tough. The wiring was so easy and I know nothing about electrical. Just plug n play. I’m mad at myself for not removing it before I sold. I could have used it later on but at least I know where to go whenever I need something else from these guys. Straight shooters! Thanks etrailer!!

I recommend the Rola Dart folding cargo carrier part # 59550. The Rola cargo carrier measures 56 inches long x 23 inches wide x 4 inches deep of usable space. It also folds up against the vehicle when not in use and features a 4 1/2 inch rise shank to help with ground clearance. The hitch part # 13251 you recently had installed on your 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a tongue weight rating of 500 lbs. The Rola Dart carrier weighs about 73 lbs, so you will be able to carry 427 lbs of cargo on the carrier. Most states will require relocation of the license plate if it is blocked by the cargo carrier. The Rola Dart has relocation holes to attach the license plate to the cargo carrier. If your Grand Cherokees tail lights are blocked a light kit will be required on the cargo carrier. Rola light kit part # 59516 will pop into the oval cutouts on the carrier and plug into your 4 way connector on the vehicle. If the cargo you are carrying needs to be protected from the elements, I recommend Rola cargo bag part # 59102. This bag features built in straps to attach the bag to the cargo carrier and is constructed from premium quality water-resistant material with sonically sealed seams.

The hitch is working perfectly and I’m still very happy with it. We are actually in the process of buying a new car and I’ll be ordering a new hitch very soon to install on it. Thank you for a fantastic product.
