Instead I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13251 which is confirmed to fit your 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee as long as it is not a SRT model.

The # 13251 has a 500lb tongue weight rating and 5000lb trailer weight rating make it a great option for carrying a bike rack, a cargo carrier, or towing a trailer.
