Question:

I have an old yakima hookup bike rack. the threaded anti rattle pin that I have is too short for my new tacoma hitch. I need a new on that has threads and a lock on it. the working length needs to be at least 4in. the standard pin that came with the truck is 5in long, any help would he great.

Hey Eric,

I spoke with Yakima and they unfortunately no longer offer a compatible hitch pin for the HookUp bike rack. Back when this was available there weren't double-walled trailer hitch receiver tubes so the pin length wasn't an issue. The only solution I can recommend would be to have a lock machine shop measure the thread pitch of your current hitch pin and cut you a new, longer hitch pin that would be compatible with their hitch lock # Y07235.

@Eric What's the diameter of the non threaded portion of your hitch pin?

@Eric For 5/8" thick you could use the Curt # C21506 which is designed for 3" trailer hitch receiver tubes and has a 4-13/16" span.
