Magnetic LED Tow Lights

A towed vehicle is required by law to have functional brake and signal lights that illuminate at the same time as the brake and signal lights on the motorhome or RV that is towing it. These removable tow lights make it easy to add running lights, brake lights, and turn signals to your towed car or trailer.

Simply mount the lights on your vehicle's trunk or roof with the heavy-duty magnetic bases. A 63" long section of wiring connects the tow lights, giving you enough slack to position the lights where you want them. Then run the 245" long wiring harness up to the front of your towed vehicle and across your tow bar and connect it to the 4-way flat on your RV.

If your RV doesn't have a trailer connector, then you can wire the extra 35" long 4-way harness that comes with this kit to your RV. And if your RV has a 6-way or 7-way trailer connector, an adapter (sold separately) will be required to connect the tow lights to your RV.

Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

The wiring length should be increased by at least five feet. We have a small vehicle and still needed to use an extension. Otherwise it is a terrific solution.

Have not used yet but I think it will be great

by:

Bought these magnetic trailer lights for my hitch-mounted e-bike rack. With two bikes on the rack, the rear car lights are partly obscured. These lights attach firmly to the rack with the magnets but I will secure them with straps as the rack surface is rounded. Plenty bright. Haven’t gone any distance yet, but I will drive reassured that the cars behind will better see my braking and turning.

These work fine and are bright. I plant them behind my toad's roof rack and add a little duck tape for security. I have lost other ones before. It may be overkill on these as magnet is good.

2013 Fiat 500

I've seen magnetic tow lights before but not like these LED's. As soon as they arrived I opened them up, checked them out and they are very well built, the magnets seem very firm and they are BRIGHT. The video on the ETrailer site does no represent how bright these light are in my opinion. Very pleased with the quality and how visible these lights are.

Great product, just as described. I am using it on my kayak trailer to replace the original incadescent lights.

  • Magnetic Versus Wired Magnetic Towing Lights For Long Road Trips
If you were to go with the either the Custer Wireless LED Tow Bar Light 4-Way # LIW-LDTL or 7-Way # LIW-LDTL-7B I recommend getting 2 of these. That will allow you to have one in the cab charging while using the other one. As they have an expected battery life of 6-8hours per charge this will allow you to switch them out as you stop for gas or food. Otherwise the Magnetic LED Tow Light Kit # TLL21RK will provide you with 20' of wiring to use hard wired lights. These lights uses LED's...

  • Recommended Parts to Equip Second Vehicle for Flat Towing Behind Motor Home
To set up a second vehicle for flat towing behind your MH you will need to get vehicle-specific base plates and possibly also a lighting solution, depending on what you're using. The same tow bar and safety cables can be used, as long as the second set of plates works with your tow bar, and possibly the supplementary braking system as well, if it is a portable type like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. If you are using easy-install magnetic tow lights like # TLL21RK then these are easily...

  • Flat Towing 2001 Ford Mustang Convertible or 2005 Saturn Ion with Manual Transmissions
For the 2001 Ford Mustang convertible with manual transmission we do offer flat towing base plate options. These are fits for all versions except the Cobra SVT. The set I recommend is the Roadmaster # 466-1 since this base plate has removable arms that will spare you a lot of bumps to the shins. Flat towing also requires a tow bar, safety cables, a wiring/lighting kit and in most states a supplementary braking system. You will find great detailed information about each of these items...

  • Recommendations When Flat-Towing 2014 Ford Focus With Automatic Transmission
There are 5 main items you need when you are planning on flat-towing your 2014 Ford Focus. You will need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, lighting on the vehicle, and most states now require supplemental brake systems. For your Focus I recommend the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plates, part # RM-524430-5. When you are not towing your Focus and you remove the front arms, the system is nearly invisible. The tow bar I recommend is the RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, part # RM-520. This tow bar...

First, for base plates you can use the linked page to see all options for your 2005 Jeep Wrangler. It is generally easiest to stay with one brand for both base plates and tow bars (to avoid the need for adapters) so if you have either a u-channel or double tube bumper you'll use Blue Ox base plate kit # BX1120. You can then use the Blue Ox Alpha tow bar # BX7380 which includes the required safety cables. Other items needed to flat tow include a wiring/lighting kit and a supplementary...

  • Which Tow Bar Light Kit for Flat-Towing 2011GMC Acadia
The RoadMaster Bulb and Socket Set for Tail Light Wiring Kits, part # RM-155-2, is not compatible with your Acadia lighting system. These incandescent bulbs will not fit in your tail light housing due to the presence of the circuit board that powers the Acadia's LED lights. Also, they would generate much more heat than the specified LED bulbs and might interfere with the nearby circuitry. If you will be towing your vehicle only on occasion, you may want to consider a magnetic towing light...

When flat towing your 2011 Kia Soul, there are a few things that are needed. You need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, wiring for the towed vehicle lights, and a supplemental brake system. The base plates I recommend are the Blue Ox Base Plates, part # BX2715. When this bracket kit is installed the removable tabs leave the car with a clean look when not being towed. The bumper fascia must be removed and replaced during installation. It also requires some trimming of the bumper,...

  • Best Bracket and Light To Add To Hollywood Bike Rack
I recommend to use the 6-1/2" oval bracket part # BK70BB with the lights of the LED light kit part # 98174LED because the 6" oval will be a tight fit. They will fit perfectly into the 6-1/2" oval bracket with the grommets on the light. I have attached a photo for your reference. The brackets will require self tapping screws or zip ties to hold them on. Another option is to use the Magnetic LED lights part # TLL21RK on the vehicle itself instead of trying to attach them to the bike rack....

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow Behind Motor Home
There are several items needed to flat tow your vehicle. Flat towing is easiest with a vehicle with manual transmission. Additionally, as a general rule, the tow vehicle should weigh twice as much as your towed vehicle. You will want a tow bar for the vehicle you will be pulling. Base plates are vehicle specific. To give you an idea, if you will be flat towing a 2005 Subaru Forester, I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX3612. This base plate has removable arms so that the base plate...

As long as your TrailBlazer's gross weight is within the hitch (and motorhome) towing capacity then you can tow the vehicle. There is an important difference between dolly towing and tow bar towing.
