Video Transcript for In-Depth Review of the Trailer Wheel Center Cap, Chrome, 3.19" Pilot Size

Today we're going to review part number 319EZ. This is the Excalibur chrome trailer wheel center cap for a 3.19 size diameter wheels. This is made of a chrome plated steel. This chrome cap adds a nice decorative finishing touch to your trailer wheels. It is designed to fit on wheels that have a pilot hole diameter, which is the largest center hole in the wheel that measures 3.19 inches. Basically, there's also a plastic plug right in here on the top that makes the cap easy to work if you have an easy lube back sleeve.

You just pop this middle part out. I'll show you this in a minute. This part is for a quantity of one cap with the plug. A few dimensions on this, the inside diameter on this cap is about 3 and 1/8 inches. And the overall height, from the bottom to the very top, is about 3 and 1/2 inches. Now basically, when you go to install this ...

I got an example of a white spoke which is a common trailer wheel that you will see a lot of. And this wheel has the pilot hole diameter, which is this large holder of 3.19 inches. So this cap is designed to fit in here. Basically what you would do .. if you notice on the cap, it has a little ridge right here.

Before you put your wheel and tire on the trailer, you'll just take the cap, run it through the back, all the way through and then you'll go ahead and mount this up on your hub and then put your lugs on it and that will hold the cap into place. And then as I mentioned, there is a little notch, throw the plug there, there it is. You'll be able to put a screwdriver in. And if you put the screwdriver in, you can see that you can just pop out that center cap and then that will give you the access to your . if you have EZ lube axles that have the grease fitting on the end, that will give you access to them. And when you're done, just go ahead and pop your center cap back on.

But that should do it for the review on part number 319EZ. This is the Excalibur chrome trailer wheel center cap for the 3.19 pilot size diameter wheels. .

  • Replacement Trailer Wheel Center Cap with Retaining Screw
We offer trailer wheel center caps in sizes for a 2.84-inch wheel pilot hole, part # AM90113, all the way up to caps for wheels with a 5.15-inch pilot hole, part # AM90078. In about the middle of this range is the part # 319EZ that you referenced, which is the most common size for camper/trailer wheels which have a 3.19-inch pilot hole. We do not have a center cap like these with a 6-1/2-inch outside diameter. I looked at several online photos of the 2006 Starcraft Centennial 3608 and...

  • How To Find the Correct Size Center Wheel Cover for a Trailer Wheel
If you're looking for a new center cap then all you'll need to do is measure the pilot hole size on the wheel. This should be done with a dial caliper to ensure accuracy. The Trailer Wheel Center Cap, Chrome part # 319EZ for example fits a pilot opening of 3.19". I have attached a full list of options for you if you have a different size opening.

  • Aluminum HWT Wheel Compatibility With Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System With Hubs
The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System with Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 - Off-Road Tires - 1,200 lbs # A12WS545 is compatible with the Aluminum HWT Series S5 Split Spoke Trailer Wheel - 12" x 4" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 # AM22319HWT. With these wheels you most likely want valve stems # AM20903. For tires, I recommend the Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10130. The wheel used on the # AM32395 Karrier 205/75-15 wheel doesn't have the retention clips or nubs stamped into it that would hold a hubcap in place (see photo). I have some options for you though. A conventional steel wheel like what's provided with # AM32352 does have the nubs or clips that would allow you to install a baby moon hubcap like # AM90086. This wheel features the same tire used on the # AM32395 that you'd asked about. If you wanted to stick with a wheel like what's provided...

The inner depth of the Trailer Wheel Center Cap, part # 319EZ is 3-1/8 inches to the tabs on the removable plug on the end of the cap. I am including a picture of the measurement. To be able to determine if the # 319EZ center cap will fit a boat trailer with Bearing Buddies is to take a measurement on your trailer. You will want to measure on your trailer the length of the spindle that sticks through the center hole of your wheel, from the face of the wheel to the end of the Bearing...

I did some research and it appears you need a 5.150 inch diameter cap. You can use the Americana Trailer Wheel Center Cap - Stainless Steel - 5.15" Pilot # AM90078 which will allow you to simply remove the end cap and get access to your bearing buddy grease cap grease zerk.

  • 13 Inch Trailer Wheels and Tire and Wheel Combos that Come with Center Caps
Some trailer wheels come with center caps and others do not. The ones that do come with a center cap will either state in the description the cap is included or it will be pictured (or both). The # AM20281B 13-inch wheel comes with a center cap. We don't currently have any of these wheel options in a combination, so you would need to add a tire like the Provider ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # TTWTRTM1758013C.

  • Will The Ford TPMS Sensors Work With A 15" 5 Lug Lionshead Trailer Wheel?
I can tell you that the Lionshead 15" 5 lug wheels that we carry, like the # LH34FR, do use the standard .453" valve stem hole. It sounds like the Ford TPMS sensors are made to fit the same standard size valve stem hole, in which case they will work together with your wheels just fine. The .453" hole is very standard so it makes sense that Ford would also make their sensors to this standard.

  • Diameter of Outside Center Hub Bore for Dexter 3,500 lb Idler Hub # 84655UC1
I went out to our warehouse to measure the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles - 6 on 5-1/2 # 84655UC1 for you. It has an outside bore diameter of 3.09 inches that the center of the wheel will fit over. I've attached a photo to assist. Most trailer wheels have a center bore of 3.19 inches, but as long as that center bore is larger it will work because trailer tires are centered on the lugs not the hub's outer bore. That center bore of the wheel is often covered with...

  • Can you Use Bearing Buddy with Trailer Wheel Center Cap
I first recommend taking a quick measurement on your trailer to ensure that the Trailer Wheel Center Cap # 319EZ will fit over your existing Bearing Buddies. The inner depth of the center cap is 3-1/8 inches to the tabs on the removable plug on the end of the cap. • Will Trailer Wheel Center Cap with 3.19 Hub Bore Measurement Fit Hub Bore with 3-1/8 Measurement
The Trailer Wheel Center Cap # 319EZ may be a little too big if you measured right at 3-1/8" for your hub bore. Since this is a fairly precise measurement I recommend taking it again and possibly use a digital caliper like part # PTW80157 if you have one handy to make sure it fits. I do not advise grinding the hub bore out at all as that could compromise the integrity of your hub.
