A worn or undersized bolt can throw off your suspension alignment. This 9/16" diameter Grade 5 shackle bolt gives a strong, precise mount for double-eye leaf springs, keeping your suspension tracking the way it should. It’s built for dependable performance where the spring meets the hanger, making it the right fit for standard trailer suspension setups.
Trailers see plenty of water, mud, and road grime. The corrosion-resistant zinc finish on this bolt keeps rust from eating away at your suspension hardware. It’s a better choice than raw steel when you want lasting protection against the elements and a cleaner look that holds up over time.
A loose nut is the last thing you need on the road. The included locknut threads on snugly and stays put thanks to its Nylock design. It resists backing off from vibration, so the bolt stays tight and your suspension holds firm through bumps and turns.
Getting the right length matters for proper suspension movement. This bolt measures 3" under the head with 2-3/8" of usable length and a 9/16"-18 fine thread. That sizing gives the spring eye room to move without binding while still tightening down securely for a stable ride.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the three inch long, 9/16 diameter Zinc Shackle Bolt with the locknut for your trailer leaf springs. Now, this 9/16 diameter shackle bolt is used to mount your leaf spring to your trailer's front or rear suspension hanger, and this part will include the locknut that secures the bolt to the hanger. Both these parts are a corrosion resistant zinc finish. This is for a quantity of one bolt and one locknut. Now, few dimensions, we'll start with the bolt itself, we mentioned the diameter on this, it's gonna be right at 9/16 of an inch.
The bolt head size or the socket size you would use on this, it's gonna be 13/16 of an inch. Now, the length under the bolt head to the very end of the bolt is gonna be right at three inches, the usable length, which would be from under the bolt head to where the thread starts, is 2 3/8 inches, and just the thread length is about 5/8 of an inch. Now, the thread size on this is 9/16 by 18 threads per inch, and the lock nut, which will install right on here, when you go to install it, that's gonna have a diameter or head size of 7/8 of an inch. But that should do it for the review on this three inch long, 9/16 diameter Zinc Shackle Bolt with the locknut for your trailer leaf springs.

After suffering a major incident on the highway where 3 of the 4 tires were destroyed along with the rims and some suspension parts, I needed parts fast and correct for my trailer. These shackle bolts came with the lock nuts for less than other parts houses want for just the bolt.
I am completely satisfied with service and the product that I purchased from etrailer.com. The measurements and specifications on the web site were complete and accurate. Shipping was prompt and the parts were packed more carefully than anything that I have purchased online. Installation of my replacement leaf springs went seamlessly which I really appreciated as I had to leave my broken trailer at my hunt camp and had limited tools to do the repair.

I never saw locknuts like the ones that came with the bolts. They are only slightly dented on the exterior/last thread of the nut. Looks home made..lol . Bottom line if the bolt is just big enough to fit the lock nut most likely will not fair well. I punched the bolt threads as a assurance.

After a year in use and 3,000 miles of high speed interstate and heavy load everything is GREAT.

Wth rusted out leaf springs on my trailer but with zero experience replacing them, I contacted etrailer and Shawn was very helpful in selecting the right parts and taking me through the process. Solid hardware.
Its a bolt. Perfect fit for dexter 3500 lb axle on a load trail trailer with 1.75 inch wide leafs. The shoulder is the perfect length and it seems like decent quality.
Bolts are as described. Did the job.

Bolts are missing SAE grade markings on head, so there is no indication that they are grade 5.

Ideally, the shoulder of the bolts should be long enough to extend all the way through the spring and shackle so that the threads are not subject to load or moving parts. The treads are the weakest portion of any bolt and should only be exposed to tension, not sheer loads. This being trailer hardware, I guess that design factor is not a high priority. Just seems like it could be done right with just a smidge more effort or consideration. That said, the original bolts I removed had only a slightly longer shoulder and one-half the shackle was riding on threads and it held up for years, although it was worn considerably more in the threads.
I wouldn’t buy my parts anywhere else but this order had 1 nut missing for my schackle bolts. Wanted trailer for job and stores were closed after 5PM. Box was sealed but no nut just made it a pain not to have trailer ready for work in the morning. Have your guys check a little better cause one little part can hold up a whole job. Thank You

Bolts have never rusted still look like brand new really strong bolts would really recommend buying these if you need them for your trailer. They were very reasonable priced also because I went to tractor supply Lowes a couple different hardware stores and lesser bolts were very much more expensive.
