Will Adding the Lippert Road Armor Raise My Trailer to an Unsafe Height

Question:
The extra 1/2inch in trailer height is a concern to me. My TTs center of gravity would be even higher. I assume wind resistance is also slightly impacted. How much of a concern is this? I have a 2021 Venture Sporttrek 327VIK, which already is fairly tall. I have not seen any 3 1/2inch or 3 5/8 shackles. The measurements I took on the existing equalizer are: 5 3/4inch center to center C2C, with a 2inch , and 2 1/4inch shackles. Spring end to spring end is about 8inch C2C. Replacing this with the Road Armor equalizer, that would mean a 3.5inch , 6inch C2C width of the equalizer, and 3 1/8inch shackles. By my calculation that would raise the camper about 1/2. Of course the 2 1/4inch shackles would raise it about 1 1/2. Camper is causing a lot of up/down shaking on certain roads at certain speeds, but no problem at same speeds on other roads. Never had this with any of my other trailers, hoping this would take care of this problem.

We've seen a lot of our neighbors raise their trailer considerably more than 1/2" without adversely affecting handling on their trailers; many of them use spacer blocks or axle flip kits to gain as much as 4 to 4-1/2" of additional clearance. As long as your trailer tows level with your truck, I don't believe that extra 1/2" of height will have the negative effects you might expect.
When it comes to adding the Lippert Road Armor # LC696740 to your 2021 Venture Sporttrek 327VIK, these are designed to help provide an added layer of cushion to your suspension system and will reduce the road shock and shaking you're experiencing.
To replace all of the mounting hardware you'll typically want to use the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 3-1/8" Long Shackle Straps # MR76ZR. If you would like to use 3-1/2" long shackles in this setup then you can use the Shackle Strap - 3-1/2" Long # TRSL350, but I'm not aware of a 3-5/8" long shackle. For the bolts you can use the Zinc Shackle Bolt with Locknut for Double-Eye Springs - 3" Long # TRFA73Z916DLNZ, which will work with the # TRSL350 shackles.
