I have a 3500# axle what grade bolts can I use for the leaf and shackle bolt

Hey Corey,

Bolt grades for leaf spring suspensions can range from grade 5 to grade 8, with the consensus being that grade 8 is the most preferred. For a 3,500lb axle the Zinc Shackle Bolt with Locknut # TRFA73Z916DLNZ would be a compatible replacement. When removing the old bolt and installing the new bolt I recommend using a second wrench to make sure the head of the bolt doesn't spin as these have splines to help grip the bolt hole.
