Question:

Which is better the moryde or the Dexter for a triple axle toyhauler. I need a new suspension and need help deciding. I will also be getting new springs as well. 2016 voltage 4150. I have currently the 3000 but Im interested in the sre 4000. I have 7k axles but want 8k springs and such. Any help would be great

Hello Nathan,

I reached out to MorRyde, and they informed me that the SRE4000 has been discontinued and is being replaced by the AllTrek4000. I went out to our warehouse and was able to confirm that the 35" wheelbase # MR77ZR is indeed the AllTrek4000.

Unfortunately, I don’t have access to a database that shows what suspension system is installed on specific campers (though it would be pretty sweet if something like that existed), so you'll need to verify your axle spacing. Based on my research, it appears you likely have the 35" wheelbase, but it’s best to confirm before placing an order.

While I was out there, I also checked the 33" wheelbase model. We currently have one in stock, and the # MR67ZR is still the older SRE4000 design.

I've attached two images for reference:

- If you order # MR77ZR, you’ll receive the AllTrek4000

- If you order # MR67ZR, you’ll receive the SRE4000

Regarding the leaf springs: I do not recommend exceeding your axle's weight rating with stiffer springs, as doing so can actually damage your suspension. If you're looking for a better ride quality, I suggest the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket - Single Axle - 5K to 8K - Overslung # SS26MV (for underslung # SS33HR ). You’ll need one set per axle. I’ve attached an image that shows exactly how they install on the overslung set-up.

If your leaf springs are worn out and need replacement, you’ll want to lift the trailer to take the weight off the axles and measure from center eye to center eye. Leaf springs flatten over time, so your measurement will likely be longer than the original spec. If your measurement is around 26", the 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 7,000-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/4" Long # TRU52FR would be the correct option. If your measurement is significantly different, let me know so I can help ensure you get the right part.

Getting things geared up for the next big adventure, where are you headed? Or better yet, what has been your greatest camping adventure in your 2016 voltage 4150?

Yes I meant the all trek 4000. But how about the Dexter I had talked with lippert about the springs and they said it would be fine. And thank you for sumo springs idea also. I was researching it last night.

@Ate The Dexter EZ flex would be a great upgrade as well, and going with this set-up would also include new wet bolts, heavy duty shackle straps, and bronze bushings. The big rubber core on their equalizers do a great job absorbing that road shock. For 35" axle spacing (8K) # K71-657-00, and 33" (6K) # K71-656-00. I have set-up many people with the SumoSprings on the 5th wheels and RV's, people are always shocked about the difference once they get them installed.
