Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Dexter 25 1/4 Inch Long 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000 Pound Trailer Axles. Now this leaf spring will act as part of your trailer suspension system, provides the attachment point for your trailer's axle. This one has multiple leaves so allows flexibility to absorb any road shock. This one has three leaves so it allows for a nice smooth ride, reduces wear and tear on your trailer, and ensures a level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces.
Now the length of the spring, that's always measured from the center of one eye to the center of the other eye. So, on this one, if we do a tape measure, center to center, it's 25 1/4 inches. The width on the spring is 1 3/4 inches. It is a sturdy steel construction. If you notice on each eye they have the nylon bushings already installed.
The eye diameter with the bushing installed is 9/16 of an inch. Now pre-mounted hangers or after-market hanger kit is required for installation. Those items we do sell separately on our website. Basically this spring will attach to a hanger that's mounted on your trailer frame at one end, and the other end connects to shackle straps suspended from a hanger or equalizer. This is for a quantity of one leaf spring.
Spring capacity is 2,000 pounds, so when this is matched with one on the other side of the axle, it'll meet the axle capacity of 4,000 pounds. Now there are additional dimensions of this spring if needed listed on the product page. So I would recommend if you do want other dimensions, just go to the product page, and we'll have the dimensions listed. I totally get wanting to buy USA-made, but Dexter is still a reliable brand. While they are manufactured overseas, the I think you'll find the quality is still there. :)
