Question:

Hi. I have a karavan trailer model # us-2800-sb-74-st-gl. I need to replace the brake actuator and drum brakes. I would also like to replace supporting brackets for the bunk lumber. Can you tell me which parts would be compatible with my trailer? Thank you

The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM72VR you looked at will be a great replacement for your Karavan trailer. This matches the gross towing weight of the original brake actuator and mounts on a 3" wide trailer tongue. It also features the EZ-Latch coupler mechanism for a simple hookup and a 120-hour salt spray rating.

Your trailer came with galvanized 10" free backing brake assemblies. For a replacement I recommend the Demco Hydraulic Brake Kit # 40716-15. These brake assemblies have galvanized backing plates, stainless steel spring hardware, and zinc-plated wheel cylinders.

For replacement bolster brackets you can use the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10000G-4. If you need U-bolts the # CE15283GA-4 is also available. These have an overall height of 9" with the actual bracket being 8" tall x 2-1/2" wide. The exact size of your current brackets was not available, so I recommend measuring to make sure you get the right height. I included a link below to all of our brackets if you find you need a different size.
