Backing up in the dark doesn’t have to be a guessing game. The Great White LED Trailer Back Up Light uses 20 ultra-bright white diodes behind a clear lens to flood the area with clean, even light. The custom-cut optics push out more usable brightness while using less power across its 9V-32V operating range. No bulbs or filaments to worry about—just steady, efficient light every time you shift into reverse.
Moisture, dust, and vibration can take a toll on typical lights, but this LED unit is built for it. The housing and lens are both sealed polycarbonate, creating a solid, protective shell around the potted circuit board. That design keeps the internals safe and helps the light handle rough roads or heavy use without flickering or failing.
Installing this light is straightforward. The surface-mount design means you only need a small hole for the wiring—not a full cutout. The hard-wired 2-wire pigtail uses one lead for power and one for ground, so hookup is quick and clean. At 7" in diameter and 1-1/2" thick, it fits neatly on most flat surfaces where you need high visibility.
LEDs already beat bulbs in lifespan, but this Great White series takes it further. It’s rated to last up to 50 times longer than incandescent lights while drawing less current and staying cool in operation. With no filaments to break and consistent light output over time, it’s a dependable upgrade that keeps working year after year.
This 7" round light isn’t limited to just one job. It works well as a backup light, utility light, or even dome light for broader illumination needs. Mounted individually or in pairs, it meets DOT requirements in any 360-degree orientation—ready to brighten almost any setup that needs reliable white light output.

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com and we're going to be looking at the great white led backup light. So this is going to be for your trailer to illuminate the area behind you while you're backing up so you can see what's going on and not run into anything. The nice thing about this is that it's going to be a really big bright light that uses LEDs. So there's virtually no maintenance required with this, like there would be with an incandescent bulb where you've got to change out those bulbs every so often. This should last you for a really long time without really having to replace it unless that housing gets cracked.
The housing is made out of a durable plastic or a polycarbonate, I should say, and that's going to be the same for the lens and the housing and then there's going to be this foam grommet going behind it to give it a little bit of squish and help protect it from vibrations and things like that. The wires coming out of it, there's no real slot for those to sit in. But there's enough give that they should sit pretty flat there. You might have to find kind of a sweet spot for those wires to go so that they can fold down. There's a little brace on one side and then this plastic piece going around. So might've to kind of finagle with it to get that in place.
There's no hardware that comes with this, which is kind of one downside. You will have to pick your own hardware. But it does kind of depend on where you're going to be mounting this and what material you're going into to determine what's going to be the right hardware for you. So let's take a little closer look at it. This is going to be a clear lens over white LEDs.
So it gives us that nice bright white light. I'm going to adjust the brightness a little bit on my camera so that we can see it a little bit better. Here we go and to hook this up, we just have two connections to make. It's going to be to power and ground. So red wire is to power.
White is to ground. The red wire has a bullet stud, so something like that.So you can use that with an appropriate connection or you can always cut that off and just use a regular butt connector depending on your lighting setup. But once we have those two connected, our light power's on and you can see a really nice bright light and if I pull this away from my table that's about at arms length and that's definitely still bright enough so I can see what's going on behind me. It's casting a light over onto the far wall of my little studio here, which is about 16 feet away. Definitely illuminates in the darkness. So it gives you a lot of light from this one disc. Turn the lights back on. Disconnect our wires. Let's talk about size. So it's seven inches in diameter and then about an inch and a half in thickness or depth, however you want to think about it. We'll have a total of 20 diodes, 20 diodes. The operating range for this as far as power is between nine to 32 volts. So it does work with 12 volt DC systems. Its circuit board is potted. So that's going to give it some protection against vibration. You can kind of see that here. It looks like an epoxy material. So that's going to seal all that circuitry in there and give it some vibration protection whenever you're out on the road. Things are always kind of moving and vibrating. So we want to make sure that those circuits are protected from that and that they last a long time. This also helps to keep it weatherproof as well. So we shouldn't have any issues with water getting in and getting an ingress. Same thing around the housing. It's going to be sealed. So it should last a long time for you. The four holes that we have for mounting, the distance between them, center to center roughly is six inches or six and a quarter inch and then if we go around side to side, center to center there, it's about four and three eighths. But that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the great white LED trailer backup light. This does have a limited lifetime warranty and we do also have two other versions of this same light, one in amber and one in red.So if you need those other two colors for your application, check them out here etrailer.com. But that's going to do it for me. I hope this video has been helpful. Thanks for watching.
