Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com.Today, we're going to take a look at this Luminex 12 volt touch activated LED RV dome light with the clear lens. Now this dome light will function as an interior ceiling light in your RV. It does use the Luminex optics, which will create a nice solid panel of light that helps eliminate the entire lens.You can see it's a nice, clear lens with white LEDs. And the LEDs are nice because they make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last about 50 times longer.
They're more efficient, because they'll provide brighter light with less power output. And of course no bulbs to replace, no brittle filaments to break.And I mentioned it uses touch activation. What's nice about that You can turn the light on and off by just simply pressing right in the center of the light. It'll turn it on. Press it again, it'll turn it off.And at the end of this video, I am going to hook this up to some 12 volt power just to show you how that works and how bright the light is.
The slide is in the nice durable white polycarbonate base. It is compatible with 12 volt and 24 volt systems. It does have multiple mounting options. You can mount this surface mount with an available bracket that we sell separately. Or you can actually recess mount it also with an available grommet that's sold separately.Notice it's a two wire pigtail It includes the red power lead and the white ground wire.
This light is made in the USA. To give you some overall dimensions on this, the diameter on the light is four and a quarter inches. Total depth from the front to the very back farthest point. It's going to be right at one and five 16 inches. Light output on this is 400 lumens.
It does have nine LEDs. And the operating voltage is nine volts to 32 volts DC.So what we'll do now is hook it up to some power. So we hook up our white ground wire. Hook up our red power wire. And with those hooked up, go ahead and turn on our 12 volt power. And then just to show you, if you push right in the middle there, you can see the light comes right on very nice, bright, white light. And then if you push it again, it goes off. So I'm going to do is turn off the overhead lights, push it in the middle. There's your light.Again, you can see how bright it is. And push it again, and it turns it off.Very nice function. Go ahead and turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on the Luminex 12 volt touch activated LED RV dome light with the clear lens..

Great light but would need to manually turn them on each time you kill the main switch in the horse trailer. Will reorder the same light but without the touch switch in the middle of the lens. Bad on me for being a poor electrician.

Easy instillation and very bright. But you must be very thorough that you have the right sized grommet for the hole in the bed or trailer AND for the light you are using. Not all grommets are the same as with trailers and flat beds so make sure that you double check the hole size both ways of the bed and the light to minimize head aches when you go to install.
