This 2" round Piranha LED light puts out a vibrant amber glow that’s clean, sharp, and easy to see—day or night. With three surface-mounted diodes behind a durable amber lens, it’s built to last about 50 times longer than old incandescent bulbs while drawing only 0.05 amps at 12V. That low power draw means you get the brightness you want without putting extra load on your wiring. No filaments or bulbs to replace—just dependable light every time you flip it on.
If water exposure is part of your routine, this light is ready for it. The housing and lens are sonically sealed into a single waterproof unit that keeps moisture out completely. That design protects the LEDs and circuit board from corrosion or shorting, so even if the trailer gets dunked, the light stays working like new. It’s ideal for setups that see wet roads, rain, or full submersion.
Road vibration can rattle traditional lights apart, but the solid-state construction of this one shrugs it off. The LED circuit board uses SMD (surface mounted diode) technology that better handles shock and heat while allowing a thinner profile. That means fewer failures from bumps and jolts and a more compact build that fits cleanly in tight spots without sacrificing performance.
Mounting is straightforward thanks to its recessed design. It fits securely with a grommet (sold separately) and connects with an industry-standard 2-prong plug for a quick hook-up to your existing wiring. Measuring only 15/16" thick, it sits neatly into the trailer body for a smooth finish that looks professional and stays protected from snags or impacts.
This P2-rated light shines at a 45-degree angle to each side of center for a total of 90 degrees of coverage—perfect for use as a clearance or side marker light when properly positioned. It’s DOT compliant too, so you can count on it meeting the right visibility standards wherever you take your trailer.

Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Peterson Pirahna LED Trailer Light. This light can serve as a clearance light or a side marker light, depending on where you have it installed on your trailer. It's got an amber lens over top your three white LED diodes, and the LEDs are going to be a great replacement for your incandescent lights. They're going to last a lot longer, up to 50 times longer than your incandescent lights. They're also going to be more efficient.
They're going to have more light with less power draw, and you're not going to have to replace the bulbs. They don't use any of the brittle filament like your incandescent lights do, that tend to wear out quickly. So you won't have to replace these. So also features a durable surface-mount LED circuit board, which is going to withstand shock and vibrations better, which obviously is going to allow it to hold up longer on our trailer. It's also going to help distribute the heat better, and that's going to allow it to have a center construction. The housing and the lens are sonically sealed together, so it's going to be waterproof. You're not going to have to worry about any sort of water getting in and damaging your diodes or your circuit board, which is going to make it ideal for your trailers that you use in the lake or wherever you have, where you submerge the trailer to get your boat in the water. It is compatible with 12 Volt DC systems.
It's going to draw a 0.05 Amps at 12 Volts. It's going to have an input voltage of 9 to 16 Volts in DC Current, and it's going to accept the industry standard two-prong plug here, as you can see. Now, if you don't already have one of those plugs, you can pick it up here at etrailer.com using part number 162-49.This light is DOT Compliant, and it is going to be a recessed mount light, so it's going to stick out past your trailer surface. It will require a hole to be installed. You can use a preexisting hole if you already have one, if you're replacing light.
Or if you're installing this new, you'll need to cut out a hole or use a mounting bracket so that you can get this mounted. If you would like the grommet that goes with this, you can find it here at etrailer using part number 146-18.Now this light is P2 rated, which means it's going to have a total of 90 degrees. Something like that. It's going to stick out like that. So it is not going to be able to be mounted or used as both a side marker and a clearance light at the same time.
You're going to have to mount it either on the front or the side of your trailer, because the beam will not extend far enough to be seen from the front if you have it mounted on the side, and vice versa. This is a direct replacement for several different manufacturers, including the truck light Tronix Maxima Rope. I would recommend checking our webpage. We have the exact part numbers listed there to make sure that it's going to work for you and your needs. As far as our dimensions go, it is right there about two inches in diameter. As far as the thickness, go this way. call it right about an inch. This is made here in the USA, and it does come with a 10 year limited warranty from Peterson. So you know it's going to be a good quality, made to quality specifications, and they stand behind their work. So you can trust this is going to hold up well for you. That's going to complete our look at the Peterson Piranha LED Trailer Light.

Very easy to install and the quality is very good.
Replaced poorly designed original non weathersealed lamps on my travel trailer with these LED lamps. They have 2 LEDs and a 6" pigtail for your wiring pleasure.
Ordered 4 of your 2 1/2 inch round LED marker lights. Price was good, shipping time was good, but you placed large stickers over two of the lenses. It took a lot of effort and time to remove the goo off the lights from these stickers.
Quality is great. They were a perfect match and fit for my Felling trailer.
I installed these lamps and my daughter’s 2012 Thor RV to replace the outdated and faded incandescent lights. They were amazing from the start. I get nothing but compliments on how bright and clear they are along with how easy they are to see. I’d recommend them to anyone with old style lamps on their trailer or RV.
Replaced poorly designed lights on a travel trailer with these. The original lamps were not weather proof and used tensioned contacts that were prone to oxidation and corrosion from the elements. These LED lamps are sealed in epoxy so the elements will not affect them. Each lamp has two LEDs and a 6" wiring pigtail.
