The waterproof construction of these lights make them ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. Each circuit board is sealed, which means that water will not damage the diodes or circuit board.
If a trailer is 80" or wider at its widest point, then it requires rear clearance lights in addition to basic trailer lights. These clearance lights indicate the width of the trailer when it is viewed from the back.
To meet these requirements on a flatbed utility trailer where the bed extends past the wheels, you can install combination trailer lights that include the rear clearance function. For proper mounting, the lights must be installed at the widest points on the rear of the trailer - one on each corner.
A P2-rated or P3-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.

Just what I wanted
easy to install and work well
Package delivered promptly. Appeared packaged well. Lights installed easily and operate without issue whatsoever. I decided to purchase this particular brand from this particular retailer because of the lifetime warranty on the LEDs and etrailer's positive reputation.
I am, however, a little disappointed that the lens of one of the lights looked a little scuffed up... as if it had been rubbing against the inside of the plastic packaging. I know things like this don't remain pristine forever, but when you purchase something new you want it to look that way!

These tail lights were the perfect replacement. And after having them installed on the trailer with over 2000 miles on the trailer, they are still working perfectly and as bright as the day I installed them.
Good lights
So far so good. I've had miserable experiences with trailer lighting in general so if these make it more than two years without failing I'll call that a win. The Optronics products overall seem to be good quality and at a good price. I've replaced all the side markers with the Optronics and those have been working well too. That said, I keep spares on hand. I also apply dielectric grease to all wire connections and try to reapply that grease once or twice a year.
Simple to install and 100% better than what came with the trailer. If I knew then what I know now...I would have replaced the lights years ago before I had to deal with a replacement at an inopportune time.

Second set of these lights for me...First set got crunched backing up. They work great !...
I trust eTrailer to have what I need and a few things I don't...but want anyway. eTrailer is my "Go To Place" for anything for my Boat Trailer.

Installed them a few hours ago and am finally able to see my keyboard to review. Bright , very bright. Don’t look directly at them while your wife presses the brake pedal , it’s like looking into the sun !

They’re working great! I’m retired so I fish alone during the week, that means my trailer lights remain submerged longer than most and they’re still as bright as new.
Very satisfied with the combination trailer tail lights. Much brighter than the original lights. Fit was perfect, no alterations were needed.

The lights sent to me are not submersible as I can tell. The lights have several opening in the rear through which i can see the LED board and electronics. I ordered what appeared to be a replacement set of lights for the failed ones on my 2021 Bass Tracker trailer but the lights sent are not the same. I also add that the lights that came on the trailers do appear to be submersible. Just so you know both sets are Optronics brand.

The circuit board is potted which means it's encased in a clear epoxy-type material. They are indeed submersible.
Super product,finally I found syper good tail light,already drive a year without any issues,because I tired to change diferend,twice a year over ten years, so I recommended for everyone.

These were essentially a direct replacement. Clearly, in the past, Optronics used a larger gauge wire. The new ones are 16 gauge. Wish they were 14 ga. like the Coyote boat trailer wiring harness...but in the end, they worked well and are pleasantly bright and high visibility, so I do recommend.
Nice LEDs to upgrade my kayak trailer. The lights are more visible and easy to install!
Great lights. Easy to install. Had to drill two new holes on trailer to mount because original holes did not line up.

So far, so good. I replaced the supplied mounting fasteners with stainless because the ones that came with it were cheap steel. Bound to rust. I’m watching the assembly fasteners to see if they rust. Disappointed with that
The position of the bolts on the lights do not line up with the holes in my Tracker trailer so that the light is snug in it's place like that original lights. I was able to install the new ones...they just stick out to the sides about an inch.

Nice and bright. Straightforward install on my Calkins trailer. Only thing I did differently is that since my trailer is bolted together I ditched the chassis ground and ran dedicated grounds from the wiring harness to each light.
Have yet to dunk the trailer as it’s under a project boat so can’t comment on how waterproof they are.
