Features to know about

Reliable Lighting You Can Count On: Sealed, Waterproof Design

Water and vibration can ruin most trailer lights, but this one is sealed up tight. The housing and lens form a waterproof unit that protects the bulb and circuitry even when submerged. The shock-proof socket adds another layer of protection by keeping the incandescent bulb safe from bumps and rough roads. It’s a dependable choice for trailers that see rain, washdowns, or boat launches.

All-in-One Functionality: Stop, Turn, and Tail Light in One Unit

Simplify your setup with one light that does it all. This 5-1/2" round incandescent design handles stop, turn, and tail functions in a single fixture. With a single bulb behind a red lens, you get the visibility you need for signaling and braking without juggling multiple housings or wires. It’s designed for standard 12V DC systems and works with an industry-standard 3-prong plug for easy connection.

Easy Fit Installation: Built-In Flange and Standard Plug Connection

No need to rework your wiring or drill custom holes. The built-in grey flange lets you surface-mount the light directly to your trailer, and it accepts the common 3-prong plug (A45PB – sold separately). Spacing between the mounting holes is 4-1/4" center to center, so it lines up cleanly without guesswork. It’s a straightforward install you can handle with basic tools.

Durable Construction That Lasts: Shock-Proof and Serviceable

When bulbs eventually wear out, this light makes replacement easy. Two rear screws hold the housing together—remove them to access the 1157 bulb for quick swapping. The design keeps things simple and serviceable while still delivering the durability needed for regular towing or trailering use. With its sturdy build and 3-year warranty, it’s made to stay on the road as long as you do.

this was a very easy install. the holes were already there to place the lights. I ran new wiring from the hitch all the way to the lights. I brought the wiring in near the circuit box up front and ran it in the cupboards to the rear. (it was easier to run new wires, the old ones were pieced together) I also was able to get the dents out and stablize the bottom of the wall. I would recomend redoing the wires when you do this. It saves a lot of headaches trying to figure where your wire may be bad. The old lights were big and boxy.

Easy to install fast delivery

by:

The trailer lights arrived 2 days prior to the estimated date of delivery. The lights were exactly as advertised and installed easily.

I wanted to change out the rear lights on my 1949 Chevy 3600.

This is a daily driver for me, not some show truck, so I wanted to protect the lights as well.

I started with a piece of 6” schedule 40 pipe. Then I cut a disk to mount the lights on with a hole saw and welded them in place.

I cut a slot into the bottom of the driver’s side light and milled a matching slot in the pipe. This was to allow light to shine down on the license plate.

Then a drilled and tapped #6-32 holes in the edge of the pipe so that I was able to screw the protective expanded mesh onto it.

Last, I primed and painted them up to match as close a possible.

Very happy with how it all turned out.

by:

Only light that works for my trailer. I hope the lens stays in place.

Alex let me explain my ratings, the service is very good but it is not easy to rate the product which is a totally sealed product which by the looks of it is fine even so it could have a pinhole which lets water in like one of the units I replaced. So I would suggests you only ask for the rating an the service you provide to the customer and not the product.

Hoping that these will work with my Thule Combi cargo carrier.
Etrailer is a professionally run organization.

by:

Lights fit my trailer perfectly and very easy to install. I received both lights in a timely fashion and tracking communication was excellent.

by:

Exact replacement for a 30 year old trailer. Swapped out both lights in 10 minutes.

by:

I loaded the page for this part from my search engine and it was exactly what I needed. The price was very competitive and the shipping was reasonable. My parts arrived on time and in good condition. I had no trouble installing them and I’m very happy with the experience.

by:

Exactly what I needed for replacing my tail lights on my Continental Cargo trailer. Super easy using a large flat screwdriver to pry them out of the rubber boot. Unplug the old, plug in the new, and press the new light back into the boot. Easy, and affordable!

I WISH they had them available in LED. But hey, the last ones lasted 20 years. So no complaints.

  • Does Trailer Get Ground For Lights From Hitch Ball On Vehicle?
You do not need to have the trailer hitched to your vehicle as the ground for the trailer is actually one of the pins of the 4-way connector. Since the new lights are not functioning I recommend double checking that all of the wiring connections made are secure and one did not come loose and that the main ground to the trailer tongue is secure. If your trailer has an aluminum frame or a tilting bed you will want to run all of the ground wires from the lights to the main ground on the tongue. Second...

  • Testing LED Trailer Lights Using an External 12 Volt Power Source
You should be able to ground the white wire and apply 12 volt power to one of the other wires and get the light to illuminate. If the ground is not sufficient, the lights will not light up. If the power source is not putting out 12 volts or requires a certain amount of load before it will allow power through the lights might not work. The back of the light housing normally indicates the function of each wire. One method you can try is to use a car battery, attach the ground wire to the...

  • How to Replace Bulbs in ST47RB Optronics Incandescent Trailer Stop/Turn/Taillight
The housing of the Optronics # ST47RB lamp is held together by two screws that are accessed from the rear of the lamp housing. Once the screws are removed, the lens can be removed from the housing and the 1157 bulb, part # DI79VR can be replaced. An LED version is available as part # M824R. The LED lamp uses less power, will be much brighter and will last up to 50 times longer than a comparable incandescent lamp.

  • Left Side Trailer Lights Not Working on Multiple Trailers Being Towed By 2007 Ford F-150
On your 2007 Ford F-150 I would start by checking the relay fuse box located under the right hand side of the instrument panel inside the cab. There are two 10 amp fuses in the box that protect the trailer towing lights. The fuse at location number 36 is for the right side lights and the fuse at location number 42 is for the left side lights. I would also recommend to check your owners manual to determine if you are missing any other fuses or relays that are required for towing a trailer....

  • Troubleshooting Running Lights Circuit on a Travel Trailer Tail Light Harness
Since you have tested the 4-Way connector on your vehicle and it is working properly, it leads me to believe that the wiring of the lights is incorrect. You will want to make sure that the fuse for the running lights on the vehicle is not blown. It sounds to me like the lights you have only have two wires coming out of the back for wiring to the trailer connectors wiring. If this is the case then the red wire will connect to the yellow (left) and green (right) wires on the trailer lights....

  • Hole Size Needed to Install the Optronics Sealed 4 Inch Round Trailer Light # ST47RB
I pulled the Optronics Sealed 4 Inch Round Trailer Light, # ST47RB, from the warehouse and measured the diameter of the light housing that will be recessed in the trailer. It measures 4.44 inches in diameter so a 4-1/2 inch hole should be fine. I spoke with my contact at Optronics and they do not recommend a specific hole diameter for this light, but most flange and flush mounted 4 inch lights require a 4-1/2 inch diameter hole.

  • Troubleshooting LED Trailer Light Issues Only When Connected to Motorhome
Because you know the trailer works correctly when connected to your Ram, the issue is likely in the connection between your Motorhome and trailer. The way you describe your motorhome impacting your trailer lights in different stages of being on and off etc, leads me to think because your trailer has LED's you will need load resistors as not enough power is being drawn at the trailer connection. My recommendation is to simply use the Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass...

  • Is there a Trailer Tail Light that Matches Peterson Back Up Light # 411SC
We do not have an exact match for a red round tail light like the Peterson Back Up Light, # 411SC, that you have referenced that is a flange mount. The closest flange mounted lights are going to be the Peterson round tail lights # 431800 and # 432000. For a flush mounted light, you could use # 429800 which may be more what you are looking for. We also have the Optronics brand flange mounts # STL42RB or # ST47RB. They use wiring harness # A45PB.
