It's a sonically sealed waterproof housing and lens unit that is submersible. It features surface-mount technology when it comes to the construction of the LED circuit board. It's designed to better withstand shock and vibration and allows for improved heat distribution.Now, it is a LED system. LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights.
They last longer. They burn brighter. They're more efficient. With LEDs you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments. We're looking at a durable, polycarbonate lens and housing.
It has the surface mount installation with the built-in mounting flange. Three mount hole design. Mounting hardware not included.On the backside, it features a weathertight connection with the included two-wire pigtail plug. That fits into these little connection points and does a great job at keeping dirt, grime and moisture away from the connection terminals. And then you have a two-wire design, black wire for power, white wire with a ring terminal on it.
That's your ground wire. It is a PC rated unit. The overall dimensions starting with the overall diameter going edge to edge gives us a measurement of 2 15/16 of an inch. And then the thickness is 15/16 of an inch thick. That's from the front to the back of the housing, but again, it's a recess mount installation.
Got that built-in flange, and so really, the only portion that's visible is going to be that portion there, and as you can see that's a really nice low-profile design from the bottom of the lip to the outermost point of the lensing right there.The light face, just measuring that lens area, is about two inches. The diameter hole that this sit in is 2 3/16 to 2 1/4, right in that area. And then the distance you have between the mount holes on center is 2 1/4 inches.We're going to go and hook it up to power. That way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. We'll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low light setting. You can see here that it sends out a nice bright consistent signal. This is a amber light so it's got the nice amber lens on there, and it features five LEDs or five diodes, so the multi-diode design really helps optimize the overall light output. Power draw at 12.8 volts is 0.063 amps. Optronics also puts a lifetime warranty on the LEDs.That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics LED Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light.

The hardware was all mismatched. It should have been stainless steel hardware to prevent a bad ground over time. The bolt was a metric grade 5, and the nut was grade 8, the screws that hold the light to the mounting bracket are stainless.

I replaced the original amber bulb side marker lights with these etrailer LED multifunctional lights on my RV and they work great. The original lights didn't blink when marking turns and I wanted drivers to have a better indication when I wanted to change lanes. I had to do some minor rewiring, but I'm pleased with the outcome.

Had trouble tracking these specific lights down online. I have bought a few things from etrailer before and they always deliver exactly as advertised. These are a direct replacement for the lights that I had which seemed impossible to find!
The light works excellent. Unfortunately after I took the old one off I realized that the original was never wired up correctly from the factory lol. New light is much brighter so I might go ahead and replace the other two. Received very quickly.
