Water damage ruins a light fast, but this one is built to stay dry. The housing and lens are sonically sealed into one waterproof unit, keeping moisture out even when fully submerged. Whether you’re on wet roads or backing down a ramp, this sealed design protects the bulb and wiring so the light keeps working when you need it most.
If you’re swapping out old lights, this design makes it easy. The light mounts flush using the built-in flange and fits neatly into a 2-3/4" diameter hole. It accepts an industry-standard 2-prong PL-10 plug, so there’s no wiring guesswork or special adapters to hunt down. The 3-7/16" overall diameter gives it a clean, factory-style look that installs without hassle.

On trailers that see vibration, road spray, or even saltwater, durability matters. The polycarbonate lens and housing stand up to impacts and corrosion better than fragile glass options. It’s built to handle real-world use without cracking or clouding up, keeping your trailer’s lights clear and bright season after season.
This incandescent light draws just 0.2 amps at 12.8 volts while delivering solid visibility through its amber lens. The P2 rating gives a focused beam pattern visible from straight on within a 90-degree spread—ideal for use as either a clearance or side marker light. It’s DOT compliant too, so you know it meets the right standards for on-road safety.
Unlike sealed LED units, you can easily swap the incandescent bulb if it ever burns out. That means no replacing the whole fixture—just pop in a new bulb and you’re back up and running. It’s a simple setup that keeps downtime low and your trailer lights reliable.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Optronics amber trailer clearance or side marker light. This round trailer light will serve as either a side marker light or a clearance light for your trailer. The sonically sealed waterproof housing and lens is submersible. Features and amber colored lens with the black flange. Features a polycarbonate lens in housing that's very strong and durable. And it contains one incandescent bulb. It's a recess mount installation with the built in black flange, hardware not included. This light is designed to fit into a 2-3/4 inch diameter hole, so if we place our ruler on this portion here, you can see that that's gonna give us a diameter of about 2-3/4 inches.
So you'll need that size of a cut out in order for the light to mount and in order for it to fit.It accepts an industry standard two prong PL-10 plug that is sold separately and available at etrailer.com. The light's Department of Transportation compliant and it is a P2 rated light. The actual diameter of the lens is about 2-1/2 inches. Overall diameter of the light is 3-7/16ths of an inch. Overall depth is 15/16ths of an inch deep.
But again, once it's installed into a 2-3/4 inch diameter hole, just right here from the bottom of the flange and up is the portion that'll be visible, so nice low profile design. The distance between each mounting hole on center is 2-5/8 inches. We're going to go and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. I do have a two prong plug right here. And so we'll go ahead and get that connected. Simply just plugs into the back of the unit.So you can see here that it sends out a nice consistent signal.
Again, it contains one incandescent bulb. Has the amber lens with the black mounting flange. When it comes to the power draw at 12.8 volts, it's 0.2 amps. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics amber trailer clearance or side marker light.

A year after purchasing these, I continue to be very pleased with these lights. I actually replaced all 20 of the marker lights and the big tail lights with these LED lights from e-trailer. I have had only one marker light lose its ground connection, which I remedied by replacing the sheet metal mounting screw with a slightly large screw. As noted above, this is not a problem with the LED lights, but rather, with the vintage trailers system of grounding through the sheet metal skin of the trailer, rather than providing a positive and negative wire lead to each light. People often stop us at camp grounds to ask questions about our old shasta, and one person even marveled that the lights were still working after 50 years. A good testament to how natural they look.

Theyve been working great. Hardest part was finding out the proper part number from the trailer manufacturer to order the right one. The products are still working great.
