If your trailer ever gets backed into the water, this light is built to take it. The housing and lens are sonically sealed to form one waterproof unit, keeping out moisture that can ruin bulbs or corrode connections. There’s no guesswork with wiring. This light accepts an industry-standard 2-prong plug so you can easily connect it to a 12V DC system without splicing or soldering. The flange mount design fits in a 2-1/4" diameter hole and secures with standard hardware, making it straightforward to install or replace.
Built tough from polycarbonate, the housing and lens resist impact and wear from road debris, vibration, and regular use. Measuring 2-15/16" in diameter and just 15/16" deep, it provides a solid fit without sticking out or getting in the way. This design keeps your lights looking clean while standing up to the elements.
With its amber lens and P2 rating, this light throws illumination 45 degrees to either side of center for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. That makes it ideal as a clearance light or side marker light depending on how you mount it. It’s DOT compliant too, so you know you’re running safe and visible lighting wherever you go.
Power draw matters when you’re running multiple lights off one circuit. This incandescent model only uses 0.2 amps at 12 volts, giving you dependable brightness without overloading your electrical system. It’s a simple, low-draw solution that keeps visibility high without draining power unnecessarily.

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number MC52AB. This is the sealed 2-inch round amber trailer clearance and side marker light from Optronics. It's going to feature a sealed, waterproof polycarbonate housing and lens. It's going to contain one heavy duty long-life incandescent bulb. It's a recessed flange mount that's going to mount with the three mounting holes. If we take a measurement, the distance we have between the holes, center on center, is going to be 2 and 1/4 of an inch. That's going to be the same distance between each set of holes.
Mounting hardware is not included. The size hole that you're going to need in order to get this to fit is going to give us a measurement of 2 and 1/4 of an inch in diameter, and so this would sit inside that hole, and then you would place in some screws to get it fully installed and secured. The flange itself is going to be made from a durable plastic material. It's designed to accept the industry standard two-prong plug. That's going to be sold separately. You can find it here on our website. Taking a look at the overall diameter, it's going to measure 2 and 15/16ths of an inch.
The overall depth is going to give us a measurement from the back of the housing to the outermost point of the lens, we're looking at about 1 inch. The power draw for this light is 0.2 amps at 12.8 volts, and it is Department of Transportation compliant. We're going to go ahead and hook it up to our external power source. That way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. I have a two-prong plug. It simply just goes in the female ports back here.
Push it in for a nice, tight connection. You can see here that this light sends out a really nice, consistent signal. Again, it's going to contain one heavy duty long-life incandescent bulb. The amber lens allows a lot of light to come through, and this light is completely sealed, with a nice waterproof design. That's going to do it for our review of part number MC52AB.
