Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna take a real quick look at this seven-way round RV style trailer connector. This seven-way round plug is going to let you connect your trailer to your seven-way round blade connector of your tow vehicle. And this features a durable ABS plastic housing and the interlock system is going to lock in place to keep your connection secure. The oversized finger tabs are going to allow you to easily grip the plug during disconnections.
And I wanted to point out a few things here. On this end, on this side here of this connector, we have these two set screws that's going to loosen and tighten this insert. So when you begin to run your wires through this connector, you obviously want to loosen these screws up and that's going to allow that insert to move out of the way. So then you can begin to run your wires through there and then you can just tighten these two screws back up and that will in turn tighten up that insert and that's going to close, that's going to close up against the wires that you run through here, giving you a nice, tight, secure fit. So that's going to keep out dust and moisture out of those connection points.
And then I wanted to point out this other screw that we have here on the other end on top, that's going to allow this connection point to actually come out of the housing. So you're gonna run your wires through, get this portion out and make your connections and then put it back into the housing and then tighten the screw. Well made, very easy to install.
I should have bought a better one. This will work though. The wiring colors molded into the back of the connector do NOT match the standard 7 pin wiring listed on etrailer.com's site, nor did it match my truck. I used etrailer's wiring guide and all is well.
This 7 pin connector replace the original connector that came on my camper that was not connecting good. This new one snaps in much better and does not come loose. I works very well.
Great replacement connector. all terminals are labeled with the colors so install is easy. Connection to the vehicle is good and secure also.
I accidentally drove over my old one! This was super easy to install—even for a woman with some age on her. It’s also better built than original one.
I like the features and build quality but should have done more research. It took three tries to get the wiring right. The product ships with 0 documentation. I downloaded a diagram off the web but misunderstood the orientation of the plug and wired it wrong twice before figuring it out. I’m old fashioned and expect instructions included. The etrailer online video did not show the inside or how to open/wire it. This is also my first attempt at trailer wiring. Work over a tarp- the parts are fiddly and you will drop a few. The connections are set up for bare wire or 0 & U shaped crimp terms.
i like that this connector still has brass connections unlike other major brands that have went the cheap route.

The rascal still works Fine!
This is an improvment over the earlier model. It uses screw terminals instead of quick disconnects inside and a sturdier strain relief clamp. The previous one got crushed in too tight a turn. (not its fault)
easy to install but i used wire crimped ends instead of bending wire around the internal posts. i also used heat shrink wrap to secure the 7 wire bundle tightly
Worked just fine. Easy to install.
Fast service, great products, Had the 7 pin connector installed in about 30 min. It actually clicks when it is fully inserted. the charging station also was very easy since I had already run the wiring.Thanks Adam E,and e-trailer Rick

We installed the lights on a trailer we were selling. Installation went smooth, lights worked great.We install the trailer plug on a 12V compressor so we could power it from our trailer hook up and it works great also. You are our go-to trailer supply store.

Wired it in and it works. Not much more to say. Works on my buddy's 2006 F-150 and on my 2003 Dodge Neon (yeah...you heard that right) and also on my 2016 Sierra Denali.

Had to replace a 7 pin on an RV that got sheered by previous owner. The video on how to replace and the part made it very easy to change the connector. Saved a bundle doing it ourselves.
