Solution for Connecting Trailer with 4-Way Round to 7-Way

Question:

Jameson suggested cutting off my 4way round and wiring a 7way round on to it. Curious to know how difficult it is to wire that. Thanks

Since there isn't an adapter available to convert the 4-way to a 7-way your best option would be to cut off the 4-way and wire it to a 7-way connector like part # A7WCB. This way your trailer will not require an adapter and everything would work.

It's pretty easy. Basically you would need to cut the wires and then strip back the side of the wiring that's on the trailer side and wire them accordingly to the # A7WCB. I attached a wiring diagram for you to use as well. You will need to wire the connector by function. To determine the functions of the wires you can trace them to see where they go or put 12 volts on each wire to see what illuminates.
