How do I hook up the wires to power the jack? Should I power off the 7 way or install a battery on my trailer tongue?

Hello Johnny, thanks for reaching out. The etrailer Electric Trailer Jack # e55ZV runs off 12v power. The jack has 2 wires so red is positive and black is negative. It is intended to be wired directly to a trailer battery. You could attach the wires to a 7-way plug like part # A7WCB if you had to, but running wires to the battery is recommended. That way the jack has its own dedicated power source.
