E-Z Lube-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • Replacement Brakes for 2022 Keystone Cougar 316RLS
Hey Rick! The correct replacement brakes are the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes # 23-458-459. When you say rotors do you mean the hub and drum assembly? If that is correct, I will need some additional information to find the right hub and drum assembly. Can you tell me your current bolt pattern (it is either 6 on 5-1/2 or 8 on 6-1/2) and send me serial number off your axle tag? The grease seal varies within the same axle capacity so that is the only way to be sure. If you can...

  • Replacement EZ Lube Hub and Drum for a Dexter 5,200 lbs Axle w/a 2.25" Grease Seal
Hey John, thanks for all of the measurements and information! You actually need the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly item # K08-201-98. The 5,200 lbs axles require a different sized grease seal 010-036-00, which measures 2.25" in inner diameter. The Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly item # K08-201-98 is an EZ Lube hub that comes with inner bearing item # 25580 and outer bearing item # LM67048 so it's going to fit perfectly. These are sold individually and come with everything you'll...

  • Replacement Hubs and Nev-R-Adjust Brakes for a Toy Hauler w/ 6,000 lbs Dexter Axles
I would be happy to Derek! Thank you so much for all the pictures and information! Since your Work and Play Toy Hauler has Dexter 6,000 lbs EZ Lube Axles, I recommend the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly item # K08-201-9B and the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes item # 23-458-459. The Hub and Drum item # K08-201-9B is the top of the line replacement hub. It offers superior rust protection, cooling, and overall durability. You can see the ridges in the product picture attached...

  • Replacement Hub and Drum Assembly for 6 Axle
Hi Connor, are you wanting to swap out the bolt pattern or keep it the same? The # 8-219-9UC3-A will fit assuming your spindle uses a 2.25" inner diameter (ID) seal and you want to switch to oil bath. However, you will have to use different wheels to match the 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern. If you want to keep the 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern you have now, and you're using grease with a 2.25" ID grease seal, the # K08-201-9B will also work. If you want the same bolt pattern and have a 2.125" ID...

  • Replacement Brakes and Hub/Drums For a 2007 Airstream Safari Trailer With 5,000LB Dexter Axles
Thank you for the images. This shows me you currently have the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-105-106 on your 2007 Airstream Safari. I recommend upgrading to the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-458-459 as this will give you a more consistent brake feel as the shoes wear. It also eliminates the need to adjust the brakes every 3,000 miles. If your hubs are worn beyond their serviceable limit then you will need to replace them. We have 2 possible hub/drum assemblies...

  • Meaning of MTI Number On Dexter Hub and Drum Assembly
The MTI number on your 8-201 hubs is simply a casting number. It does not indicate any information about the hubs or have anything to do with the actual part number. I'm not surprised to hear you have different outer bearings between the two since there are variations of the 8-201. However, both should have the same inner diameter of 1.25" so it won't make a difference for fitment. For example, the # 8-201-5UC3-EZ for 5,200 lb axles and # K08-201-9B for 6,000 lb axles are both 8-201 hubs...

  • Replacement Brakes, Hubs, Bearings, And Grease Seals For Lippert Axle V000470363
Hey David, Ispoke with Lippert it their records show that your axle is stamped for 4,400lbs but was setup with 6k rated hubs and brakes, which is why the brake assemblies are larger and you have a 6-lug hub assembly. To replace the brakes you'll want the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes # 23-458-459, which is made right here in America. The current hubs (Lippert 814202) use bearing numbers # 25580 (inner) and # 15123 (outer) and grease seal # GS-2250DL. If you ever need to...

The Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly with Parking Brake - 6K Axles - 12" Diameter - 6 on 5-1/2 # K08-201-9B you were looking at actually only works with wheels ranging from 14-1/2" - 16" in diameter. This hub and drum will work with any electric or hydraulic drum brakes that measure 12" x 2". To determine the # K08-201-9B will work on your trailer you will need to confirm which bearing combination your spindle uses. The # K08-201-9B uses inner bearing # 25580, and outer bearing # 15123. • Replacement Self-Adjust Brakes and Hub/Drum Axxemblies for Dexter Axle 5,200 lb Axles
Weight ratings are a little weird when it comes to hub/drum assemblies but as long as the bearings and the inner diameter of the seal (2.250") that comes with the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 6,000 lb E-Z Lube Axles # K08-201-9B matches what you have then this will definitely work for you! When it comes to the brakes you can either use the 12" Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes # 23-458-459 or the 12" etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-7-SA. They both fit the...
