The DX7.5L A-60 mounts directly on top of standard 3" wide trailer tongues using pre-positioned bolt holes set 3/4" down from the top surface. There’s no need for special brackets or welding. Once bolted on, you’re ready to go with a clean factory look that fits tight and stays in place under load.
When it’s time to reverse into a tight space or back up an incline, the included manual lockout key keeps your brakes from engaging by mistake. The built-in fill cap on the master cylinder makes topping off brake fluid straightforward too—quick access without removing parts or tools. It’s one less hassle when you’re trying to get on the road or back into the driveway.

We are a trailer repair company. We purchase the actuators for our customers. But we have had a lot of experience dealing with Dexter/UFP products. We try to only buy the best products available for our customers. That is why we buy Dexter/UFP products on a regular basis.
This is a very well made Brake Actuator, with high quality and heavy duty materials. Flat top design suits my requirements of opening the tail gate without worrying about damaging the tailgate and for fixing the sticker for Ford Pro-Trailer Back up Assist. Overall, I am pretty happy with the product, pricing and prompt shipping.
However, I have two observations to make:
1. Manual lockout plate could have been tethered to receiver. Even better, fitted with a magnet so that plate does not fall off, when you are moving the trailer back and forth. There are after market products available with magnet. I improvised on my own with a piece of strong magnet from old hard drive.
2. I bought Dexter A-60 bolt-on top mount for two different trailers. I observed that in both cases, the mounting holes in the receiver does not exactly line up with holes in trailer tongue- off by about 1/16th of an inch. Looks like the inner unit welding to outer case could be the cause.
So I would rate the product as 4.5/5.
Worked perfect rebuilding a 1990 boat trailer with drum brakes. The updated coupler is so much easier to use. Bolted on and brake lines conntected with no modifications.
Perfect fit. I had to notch one corner where my wiring came out of the box tubing. Really nice compared to the original that was on there
Item arrived quickly and on time. Packaging was destroyed and marked up the item. Have not had time to install item.
Order arrived in two days. Had a bit of a hangup on install but quick response from help line exposed my retarded mechanical skills and with just a change in a brake line fitting resolved all issues. All good
