Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a brief look. at this Lippert anti billowing kit for Solera slide out awnings. This simple device is going to keep your slide out awning from billowing and damaging your RV when you are out on the road. This is going to work with all Solera 1000 and 5000 series slide toppers. And the roller bracket, as you can see from the photo that I have there on the screen, and this is for the white version of this kit obviously. The roller bracket is going to install on the end cap of your roller tube, and the stop bracket is going to install on the side of your RV.
Now the mounting hardware, as you can see here, is included. And it is recommended that you use butyl tape to seal the stop bracket. And you can find some butyl tape if you don't already have that on hand on the related product section of this product page. This is made here in the USA of durable aluminum construction. It's going to resist corrosion and it's lightweight and this kit is well built.
And you're going to have everything that you need minus the butyl tape to successfully install this kit. Obviously this is in a black finish, but if you are looking for that white finish, we do carry that here at etrailer.com. Install was easy and product looks good. Have not been in a strong wind yet, so do not know if the anti billow works. Last product I used the winds were so strong that the arm somehow turned past the stop and the awning blew up like a parachute. Will see how this one holds up.
DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE A SOLERA 5000 SERIES SLIDE TOPPER! When doing a fit check before installing I discovered that the foot of this device would be prevented from rotating on the topper by the horizontal bar of the topper! Had I mounted this, it would have done significant damage to the topper, the slide, or both! And etrailer will not allow me to return it due to the cost of return shipping.

UPDATE, after my initial review, etrailer contacted Lippert to alert them of the issue. Lippert revised the topper anti-billowing kit to work with all its topper models. etrailer sent me a new kit at no charge, which I confirmed does now work with the 5000 series topper. 5 stars to etrailer for customer service and follow up!

I had other RVs without the kit, it made travel less enjoyable.
Is something like this for slide covers that like to billow?

Glad to hear it made big difference! It looks like this is the only kind of kit we have for anti billowing. We will have to keep an eye for more products like this to add in the future!
Read the directions and understand how it works before you install it. The directions are clear but positioning is slightly different on each trailer. Once I had a plan Installation was easy. Works as advertised. I am a satisfied customer.

I hope that you havent painted this kit yet! I do see that we do have this Lippert Anti-Billowing Kit in white. Please check out part # LC25TF. Our customer service team can work on getting a return and order set up for you for this kit.
The Solera Slide Topper appears to be of good construction. Even considering the damaged shipping tube and gouging observed on one of the idler head spring assemblies due to the container having been damaged in transit and re-tped.

If you've ever driven thru Wyoming's South Pass and had your slide topper turn into a parachute then this is just what you need. Easy to install and as always the right item when ordered thru e-trailer.
Works excellent. Easy to understand in structions.
Easy install and should function as designed. Installing second one tomorrow with one more ordered along with its topper that hasn't shipped yet.

Lucky to have not used this. Easy to install and should serve its purpose if the awnings ever come loose.

Good service as far as timely and letting me know in regards to shipping, but NO instructions with the product.
So, it is not installed yet so I’m UN sure how it fits or how well it works = the score of 3 (it could be higher??)

This was a perfect replacement for my broken one. Installed easily in a few minutes.
I ordered this at the same time I ordered a slide topper. Though I hadn't had an experience with my topper awning billowing (because I hadn't installed it yet,)I thought it would be a good idea to install it pre-emptively. It was easy to install. At least I won't worry about the fabric billowing while driving at highway speeds in the future.
Perfect replacement
This came in the mail while I was attaching the last screws on the topper. This went straight from the mail box to the trailer wall and squeezed it into my really tight installation. Should work fine. That slide topper is now DONE.

Works just like it’s supposed to. I have a 24’ long slide so I installed an anti-billowing kit at each end.
Perfect fit
Easy to install after two previous ones. Will do just fine if following instructions and checking location before final attachment.
Perfect replacement and very easy to switch out. Customer service is phenomenal!
I have not installed this item yet because it did not come with instructions nor did I find anything on e- trailers other than describing the product, also the package in which it came in was ripped and did not contain any screws

I reached out to Lippert and there was a running change to the kit that will now allow it to work with the 5000 series toppers. We will have a replacement sent out to you.
