Guide-on posts make it easy to load your boat onto your trailer and back your trailer down the ramp. They attach with U-bolts to the rear of your trailer and extend out of the water, providing visual targets to center the boat between during loading.

Guide Your Boat Into and Out of the Water with Ease
When your boat trailer has been backed down the ramp and is partially submerged, these 75-inch-tall guideposts that are mounted on the rear corners of the frame will stick out of the water, giving you two highly visible targets to guide your boat between for loading. The PVC posts also provide a visual aid to help you back your boat trailer down the ramp when you're unloading and loading your boat.
Installation
The posts are simple to install. Slide the PVC posts over the galvanized steel support posts. Then use the included U-bolt hardware to mount the posts on the top or below the trailer frame, as close to the rear corners as possible. Adjust the posts so that the distance between each post and your boat is less than 1 inch.
Pre-Galvanized Steel
Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating (less than 1 mm) and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so it's recommended that they be primed and painted.

Guide-ons are just what I was looking for. I haven't installed them on my pontoon trailer yet but a picture on the website makes it look like it should be easy.

It was difficult locating guide-ons that extended the 17" I need to cradle my sailboat on the sides and 75" height to clear the water when my trailer is submerged at the ramp. The guides I ordered are exactly what I needed and I will know, once they are installed, that I will be pleased with your product.
Super easy to install. We have had them for over a year and we love them. Very stable and secure. We originally bought them for our pontoon boat and when we traded it for a fishing boat we wanted to keep our load guides. My husband was able to easily modify them by cutting them shorter and putting the cap back on. It’s so nice to load the boat and know it is sitting perfectly on the trailer. Can’t say enough good things about the product!
Brackets were not big enough for my trailer (not wide enough) no where did I see an option for bracket size when ordering that I recall
Love my guide posts for my trailer. I have a 24' Sea Ray and these guide post made it possible to launch and retrieve the boat by myself with assurance that the boat is sitting on the trailer correctly. As an added bonus they are visible to me as I am backing up the empty trailer when it would normally go out of sight with steep launch ramps. Making retrieving the boat so easy.
As a new boat owner and new driver, trying to load a tritoon by driving it into the trailer has been a challenge to say the least. I thought these bars would assist with helping me figure out where the boat needs to be in order to get it loaded properly on the trailer. To that extent I guess they do their job. However, as is common with boats when either the front or rear end is not lined up and the boat shifts, these bars will not maintain their position because they are made of cheap aluminum. The boat is way too heavy and the bars will bend out of alignment causing you to have to readjust them once you do actually get the boat back on the trailer and out of the water. Took mine off because they were more hassle than they were worth having to constantly readjust them. If you are a more experienced boater and do not struggle as much loading or unloading your boat onto the trailer then these would probably do well.

I own a 24' Montery M45 OB and my trailer came without guides. Upon loading my boat while in the water the rear would sway and of delay my loading. After visiting etrailer.com and learning about the CE Smith Guides I purchased these. Perfect !
Easy to install and my boat loads perfectly each time. The 75" was the right choice too.
The mounting hardware for the trailer guides does not match my trailer frame very well and would always bend over if only slightly rubbing against the guides while loading on the trailer. I had to construct some blocks to mount next to the trailer frame to keep the mounting brackets from twisting over. The first season of owning the guides did not work very well at all. After installing my mods, the second season seems to be working better and the guides are more rigid and durable.
They survived last boating season and show no signs of slowing down. Great goal posts to guide me in to the additional roller guides further up on the pontoon trailer.

wife broke both sides off with in a month after install
Hardware is designed for a john boat not a 30 foot tritoon
Easy application 30 minute install would recommend

My guide ons showed right on time . I installed them in under 30 minutes. Really easy instructions. super strong . I got the 75” ones because of the launch we go off of is really steep at low tide .

Product was easy to install. Arrived as described and on time. Washers were missing, but I managed to install using other washers.

Just installed the trailer guides. My galvanized trailer has an odd slant vs a horizontal frame member in the back so i honked down on the U bolts as hard as i could. Its firm and secure but i may cut, drill, thriugh bolt the uprights to my trailer frame, the skirt around the step. If anyone is wondering, the galvanized tubing is top notch material. Durable for sure.
Product is not as pictured. It's a bent tube, not corner brackets as indicated. I really needed corner brackets to make it work for my application. Unfortunately my teenage son was very helpful and installed it before I got home so I'm stuck with it as is. It will most likely fail for my application.

It was as I suspected in that we had old and new stock together. We do have a set with the square brackets that we can send. Do you want a replacement sent out? We would also send you a label via email to have the old style returned.

Metal posts could be more stable. CE SMITH should weld on a 45* bracket to stabilize the metal post to prevent them from bending. My previous boat guides had them but unfortunately couldn't find them taller as I've upgraded to a bigger boat. During windy conditions, my boat drifts right. No matter how slow I load the boat, the middle touches the guides and bends them out. I have 1/8 of an inch between the gunnel and the posts. After loading I have almost 3 inches due to the posts bending. I would need to bend the posts back into position after launching so the boat will sit center on the trailer when retrieving. In addition, the metal posts that came with the kit isn't as advertised. It does the job
Amazing, i wish i would have put these on 3 years ago, the boat sits on the bunks on the first try.
This is the best money I have spent on our boat in a long time. I have a heavy 24' aluminum fishing boat that is not easy to get on the trailer and line up correctly. Now it is a breeze to line up in any current or wind situation and it sits on the trailer perfectly. I am recommending these to all my boating friends.

It is listed on the product page that the brackets would fit frames that are 3 inches wide and 5.25 inches tall. We do have a set of u bolts that will fit with a 6 inch tall frame part # CE11416.
